You want to get out of the whining of Kaidan and Ashley? It's really simple. Take the renegade conversation options when they whine on Mars. It will shut them up. They will trust you more. Paragon conversation options make them whine and whine and whine.
ME1 -> 2 -> 3 save editing because I regret having Kaiden on the Normandy.

Just to get my 2-cents in, I totally disagree with you on nearly all accounts about Kaidan. Good, now thats out of the way...
What you're looking for the is the ME3 Gibbed Save Editor. You /can/ modify your game saves. I'm surprised no one has pointed you to it yet. Alternatively, if you're starting a new ME3 run, you could use the ME2 Gibbed Save Editor to change the survivor in your ME2 import. If you're already playing ME3 though them the ME3 Save Editor should be able to switch flags with Ashley.

Ashley's most adorable trait is probably how you find her drunk on the floor of the Normandy in ME3. Otherwise she's just brooding at the window.
Personally I just found it unprofessional and I'm not a big drinker so I can't relate to getting that drunk.
I'll admit is is funny taken on it's own, but really it is an appalling breach of discipline. It's not like the Normandy is chilling at the Citadel, we are literally in the middle of one of the largest space battles in history, deciding the fate of two sapient species and she figures it's a good time to wallow in self-pity. If it wasn't for her Citadel content with James I would blast her or Hackett her every time.

I wish they would have options for the Citadel DLC armor, weapons and more ME1 and ME2 choices, but I'm grateful it exists. My ME3 runs would not be complete without some tweeking, and for ME2 runs it's required as I refuse to do any more planet resource scanning. I'll just take a million of each and call it a day, I know where all the mission planets are by heart now.

Thank you all for your responses. I admit, I was being gleefully childish and trying to be funny with describing Alenko. Sometimes I'm okay with him and sometimes he says something out of the blue that I wouldn't expect, and it makes me want to pull his bottom lip so that it snaps back onto his face. Also thank you for shining some light on the gibbed save editor and genesis dlc.
I dunno, my Steam folder is overflowing with games but I'm playing Mass Effect 2 and 3 at the same time instead of my backlog.
One more thing I wanted to clear up... both Kaiden and James have this Kai Leng mask on one of their costume switches, I think it's from the From Ashes dlc. And that's it. Sorry to say that I will switch up Ashley for Kaiden on this playthrough and try to erase any romance from Shepard. Shepard is a reaper killer and shouldn't be tied down with a relationship, imo.

The thing is that Shepard should have been able to get some nookie anyway, and (s)he can't without being in a relationship. The galaxy is about to end and maybe (s)he just wants a f***.

Yeah I always take this option. There's no time for that garbage while they're on a mission and earth's ass is being waxed by giant killbots.
