why the hell did they make it 750,000 ?????? It's such an unrealistic number. If the person behind these decisions isn't aware of how many people actually play the game on each platform then they shouldn't be allowed to touch numbers on their keyboard.
Wtf bioware? Granted it was only for a regular large chest (Another wtf bioware?) but still, it shouldn't have been an unreachable number.
Biowares continued failures after failures with this game are really, seriously, starting to make me angry at this point.

outside of the target number, the fact that it said "chest" as the reward rather than "victory chest" or "commendation chest" gave it away that it was clearly meant to fail.
I am waiting to see what is to come out of this. hopefully it's something interesting as I'm about a week or two away from dropping the game at the moment because it's getting a bit tedious and there are other things I could be playing instead.

I tried my hardest to log on to get some gold for my Xbone fellows, but I kept getting that connection error message. I did manage to get three gold from a private, solo routine.
same here the connections error was driving me nutty even after i joined private game of my own the error would pop up as i was playing

I was gone all weekend shortly after the event started, and just got home to check the progress.
The Weekend Event Challenge tab doesn't even show either of the Gold Medal Challenges whatsoever, and I know I had gotten at least a few tiers of my personal level. Perhaps they just removed it entirely and are going to re-do or add Gold Medals with a better community target at a later date? Maybe same weekend they bring back the two weapons from during the attacks?

The community challenge for last week (opening 250k chests) just said "chest" too. I remember the goal being achieved and then trying to find the mysterious "chest" in the store.

Having a failed challenge disappear from your challenge log is a good thing.
Completionists particularly (cough) will appreciate not having a 1/5 stars entry nagging them on their challenge log.

Hey all,
As I said last week, i'll be your point of contact for everything "weekend challenge," so I think a lot of you saw this post coming.
TL:DR, we made the Community Challenge number too high. Sorry.
Long Version: When creating these challenges we use telemetry, player numbers, math, and a little designer "gut feel" to create the goals. It seems we misinterpreted something along the way this time. We want these to be truly challenging, yet if you put your mind to it you can get it. This was not meant to be a "fail the community" challenge, and we had no ulterior motives behind it.
I think if we set the numbers at 200,000 for PS4/X1/PC and 50,000 for PS3/X360, it would have been challenging, but possible for all platforms to hit it.
Going forward as we do more challenges, our telemetry numbers will get better, and we will have a better understanding of what is in the realm of possibility for achieving.
We are also looking into increasing the rewards in the Victory Chest and focusing on challenges that promote more teamwork.
Thanks for trying to hit our lofty goals this week, we'll do better making them a bit easier this weekend.

The problem with the challenge was that it you could with everyone doing their best maybe only getting the immortal medal because if the team was well balanced then the kills may be split below the 50 mark and the streak metal is effected by that as well. We should have marshalled the troops and just had everyone solo routine.
All weekend challenges have been easier and quicker to accomplish all by your lonesome, soloing routine. Except the chest opener though. Which is the best challenge to date. Imo.
