Well, storywise we are helping the Inquisition make a deal with the Nevarrans right? Guess that deal isn't happening (It didn't in single player either as far as I recall, you had to pull your family into it if you were human noble)

Whew. 750k gold medals? This is what we in the PC community get for crushing last weeks event in a day. Still, obtaining a gold medal is tougher. Like DragonRacer I believe I'm going to run a support mage w/ barrier, since I already have the individual goal finished.

Oddly enough, 17 of the individual medals I achieved were the Immortal medals, so thanks to BW for getting those working before the event.

I wish there was a way to find out much you managed to add to the community challenge. After you get the personal challenge done, there's really no tracking it. I know some may say it's cheap, but I like the challenges to be in the realm of possibility. I don't mind having to work hard for it, but I don't want it to be too out of reach either. It's more fun when you feel like you're helping instead of tilting at windmills.

I hate being labeled a failure!!

But I found the alchemist to be my go-to for soloing. Drop your poison cloud then fire off your mines. Have them walk through and watch the green fireworks.

It was 3 million, and we managed to kill about 2/3rds of the goal at about 1,9 million.

I seriously doubt we will even get to a third in this goal. Someone at BioWare wanted us to fail this goal with this high a goal to reach. :P

Almost feels like the community goal was meant to be 150k.

Xbox 360 just now cracked the first star. Such a sad sight. I think I did the first 5K medals myself. Looters you MIGHT want to take a day off and step it up a notch. js

or there was an assumption that the casual gamers would figure out what to do (or want) to get gold medals.

The problem with that is, casual gamers likely are not coming here to read the forums and as far as I can tell there's no information in-game on what is required to get gold medals.

Honestly I think they've tried to replicate the banshee failure from ME3MP. But part of the interesting thing with those challenges and the outcome of them was we had an outcome. We got both a lore lead-in on the forums and a follow-up afterwards. The DAMP weekend events might give a bit of lore at the beginning to explain who wants us to kill x number of enemies with mauls or whatever, but there's no follow-up. So if they change something over the next week, whether it's more enemies or something, nobody will really know for certain. Unless they spend the next week flashing up a message saying something about the outcome.

Yeah, would be nice to know our own contribution to the community once we pass our goal. I manually tracked my chests last week because I was curious. I hit around 62 or so overall.

Like I mentioned earlier, this one smells suspiciously like the Banshee challenge from ME3MP... a set-up story-wise for failure. There's just no way. The number is astronomical.

I'd encourage everyone who has already met their personal goal to switch over to support and help others reach theirs. If you didn't solo for all your Golds, what you're seeing right now is everyone flying past treasure rooms and everything else in a desperate, mad grab for kills. It's hurting the co-op element. I'm finding a hell of a lot more fun entering a lobby, declaring that I am not after kills but want to help everyone get some Gold, and that is slowing everyone back down to normal... we're hitting treasure rooms, I'm putting myself on Barrier duty and then pot-breaking duty, and we're getting others their agent goals while still having fun.

If we're not getting a community chest, we may as well help others at least get one damned chest this weekend. That's my own personal challenge, anyway. Have actually had a few state here or message me saying they thought the idea was nice and are doing it themselves. Heart-warming, that is. THIS IS HOW WE HELP BUILD A LASTING COMMUNITY. STAND FAST, STAND STRONG, STAND TOGETHER.*

*Note that DragonRacer may be a bit tipsy, but the sentiment is still genuine. Go forth, friends, and BE SUPPORTIVE. It's hard to dial back the natural killer instinct, but it CAN be done.

XBOX 360 at ~13,000 as of 12:35 pm Eastern on Saturday. No way we get to 80,000.

A solo Routine can net you 4 Gold easily, but 80,000 / 4 = 20,000 and there is no way that many solo Routine matches are getting completed.

So that's about 4K medals in 5 hrs. We're doomed.

*gonna keep on Keeper-ing on and Barrier-ing all the teammates to their own Golden agent chest*

I did all weekend challenges so far, but I refuse to do this one. It makes me to play solo and I already played the whole single player campaign alone, so when I go to online mode I want to play coop and this challenge simply doesn't encourage that

Yeah, I think 750k is a bit too much to pull off for ps4, so I am not even bothering with it. If it was lower, sure I would give it a shot, but the amount is too much atm.

Yeah, same here. When I realised we weren't even in the race to reach the goal, I decided my time was best spent doing something else.

If the goal was attainable, I would have joined, or at least attempted to join some pugs with a keeper and help out that way.

An idea perhaps for future weekend events that the goal be at least possible to achieve? I don't expect it to simply be handed to us like it somehow was last week on PC. That was kind of the same as this in that the event was suddenly rendered useless and over before it should have been. Admittedly I don't have a doctorate in game design, so perhaps a goal that's so far out of reach is a stroke of genius, that my tiny brain can't comprehend.

The first community challenge was acceptable as its goal was only 250000. But this 750000 is an overkill and the reward may probably be some potions and low tier items. Oh maker.  <_<

The 250,000 last week wasn't so bad considering that it was for opening treasure chests. Let's say a full team of four opens 5 treasure chests in one round, those 5 chests count for all four players, so that's +20 to the counter per match. For the Golden challenge... You get, what, around 7 gold medals total from all players per match? And that's if the team does exceptionally well.

It'd be interesting if this challenge was set up to be impossible to begin with for story reasons, like the others have mentioned. I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

I logged on, Ps4 is nowhere near this and it's Saturday. Too bad my vacation ended, I could of helped out more. Lmao, no victory chest unless there is a miracle or Bioware decides to add all the totals together.

Making a weekend challenge for which we have literally no chance of success is a cheap, dirty move by BioWare. If it can't be completed it's not a challenge, it's an insult.

Or it's misaproximation on BioWare's end. I thought we were passed the whole emotionally overreactive community thing where we take gameplay issues as grievous personal attacks? Do you honestly think they deliberately set what they perceived as an unattainable goal? What would the point of that be?

Ticked off because I challenged them to a 1v1 and they knew they would lose?

Figured it'd be better to just check myself.

PS3 is at 33,033 / 80,000 on 11pm EST Saturday night. Not looking good.

I don't think the community event is only for the weekend. My only evidence is that it doesn't actually say "Weekend Only", as does the individual one.
