Ok so again. How would a templar order rank tem? Codex does hint pride is the strongest so far kinda hinting at stronger demons. I understand demons like Nightmare forbidden ones allure or any named demon is a different case. But im talking about a demon at its base. Is the hierarchies Pride>desire>despair>sloth>envy>hunger>fear>rage>terror?
The templars knows more about demons than mages... Obviously.
I think it's more Pride / Fear > Desire > Despair > Sloth > Envy > Hunger > Terror > Rage
Based on intelligence, most feared or the strongest...
Rages demons are the least. Not smart at all.
Fear demons are rarely seen by templars but they feed on the most nightmare of mortals and are not defeated easily. Can't place them below Hunger demons because they are stronger...

I believe that the Nightmare demon is analogous to Lucifer in the Bible. The first of the fallen. I don't think there is a more powerful force other than the Maker within the Fade.

If despair is related to hope and if both hope and faith are some of the strongest spirits would that put despair higher then sloth and desire and possible just below pride? I know envy is rare but and only senior templars encounter them but I am sure to a Knight-Vigilant he would probably rank it lower then pride and fear and maybe equal or slightly above or below desire? Terror being minions for fear is why I ranked them so low. Hunger is at the bottom cause only 1 has been encountered in the series being unique somewhat in DA:A. I put rage above terror because rage doesnt show up in the same numbers as terror and rage has also interacted with humans while terror seems like demon warriors. Sloth seems to be in the middle if kinda fits given its nature. And desire being as old as it is was already under pride but seems to be over sloth and I figured it may be over envy more so due to age.
That would make sense - the codex implies that despair is linked to depression in Thedas and anyone who has suffered from depression can tell you it's much harder to overcome than say, anger, since it's one of those issues where you can't always identify where it comes from, it just is. (Also the misidentification as sloth - how it used to be common for people with depression to be told to just "get over themselves" or stop being "lazy").
To put it differently, pride is terrifying because it twists who you are, despair is dangerous because it takes away who you are. One makes you your own worst enemy and the other makes you forget who you are or wanted to be entirely.

I'm disappointed I didn't get to 86 him. I'm the ****ing hero! Just one demon shouldn't be anything intimidating!

Isn't he pretty much the walking definition of intimidating?

Just think he and the fearlings only appear to be a giant spider to Hawke and the Inquisitor, Cassandra on the other hand describes the fearlings as something that wouldn't be out of place in H.P. Lovecraft so I don't want to know what it appeared to look like to her and Sera refused to even say what they looked like to her but given her greatest fear is 'nothing' who can say.

Hmm, I suppose in a literal sense, I kinda have to concede to that.
But I find that with frequent and rapid application of the the pointy end of my sword, all things do manage, to get less intimidating. Sometimes it's a slow process, but in the end, it's a pretty efficacious solver of problems.
Thus, I stand by my statement. I'm the MAIN CHARACTER, and he's just another demon.
