Kendra is my female human. She is probably possessed or something by a pride demon. But she believes she is the Herald of Andraste, and wants to use the Anchor to obtain the power Corypheus sought. But the reason I picked Kendra is because it means prophetess and/or knowledge seeker. Which I thought fit well with the Inquisitor's origins. It is also an English / Anglo-Saxon name.

I have a set of names I used in every game, and they are all names I originally used for D&D characters. At this point I can't remember how I came up with each of the names, it's been too long. Anywho my three favorites are Arlee, Loralee, and Mylini.

I like to plan ahead and have a name for every protagonist for the next several games or so.

My Trevelyan is named after my favorite female actor: Milica.
Usually I use baby names and meaning of names sites when choosing names though, they give nice ideas ^^

My elf inquisitor was named Maharie Lavellan, after my dalish warden from DA:O. She was later re-christened Inky by the thief who stole her heart. She didn't mind.
Human inquisitor was Harold Trevelyan. He always felt there should be a "The" in front of his name, and it pleased him to finally hear it everywhere he went.
My current dwarven warrior inquisitor is named Dofni Cadash. Was looking for a dwarvish sounding word that meant courageous or brave. Found an "old-norse-to-english" dictionary online (which I've since lost the link to) and according to that page, Dofni means "Dopey". It's not particularly brave, but I was inspired. I went with it.

I turn to the net when I get stuck. I usually try to stick to a theme that matches the lore. If we ever have a Tevinter protagonist for example, he'll definitely be getting a Roman name.
Here a couple links that might be useful for Trevelyans at least:

Usually my first playthrough of these games is with a Dalish Rogue character, once named Tuldabar Mahariel, now the more mundane Conner Lavellan (Except for II, which obviously had to be human). My current canon goes as such: Skie Cousland, Shadrian (Shad) Hawke, and Conner Lavellan.

I'm Carib so I usually use names I'm familiar with or create ones that sound similar. My current Quizzy's named Kuruk, which is an actual name for men, and my lady Quizzy is named Hehewuti. Both are Amerindian, and I tend to use those for Qunari. I also try to use little-known African names since I'm also that, usually for my humans and rarely for my elves. Shango and Yemaya are a couple of my favorites.

I don't have a canon qunari name yet. I've played with a couple but haven't found one I really like yet
