I've liked the default names enough in Inquisition just to roll with them. Except for the male noble. I had to change his name because my husband decided Maxwell was awesome. His other two are Heath, and Thomas.

So when it came time for me to create a male noble... I went through the same thing I do everytime I name something. Sit there for an hour, surfing a baby names list... seeking an appropriate name. Maxwell and Evelyn are English. So I went with Old English names, and found Alwyn. So that's his name. If I do end up naming something, that's usually what I do. This isn't including the time I spent in the CC creating the face.

My wardens and Hawke on the other hand...

Lydia Amell

Rayne Mahariel

Rin Cousland

Cedric Cousland

Anna Hawke, mage

Marianna Hawke (Yeah, I tacked Anna on to the default name. /lazy), rogue

Amelia Hawke, warrior

I'm always Faellen. It's an amalgamation of my own first and middle names. I always play an elf, so I guess it's cool that it sounds a bit elfy anyway :)

Hey all, KatxHeart here. So, idk which account is my main one apparently, and I always sign into a different one every time I come to this website... I'm gonna stick with this one I guess. Wish there was a way to combine them but oh well lol

I had some names in mind for my first playthrough (none too common as far as I've heard of), but as always you'd better google them first to see if there's going to be namesake in the game, in case it bothers you. Somehow all my planned names got mentioned in some context. So I turned to surnames, and haven't looked back.

Verhoeven, dalish mage.
Strauss, surfacer.
Chaplin, cute lady qunari.

Now I'm keeping an eye on fun sounding non-celebrity surnames for future games. In hindsight I would had liked to name my wardens in same system, too bad they already got their random names (which I grew fond of). At least my Hawke's first name is Gervais, which was supposed to be nick for Garrett at the time.

Anyway naming characters is so fun with fantasy genre. Giving latin first names for protagonists in jrpgs that take place in Japan is my secret shame. I don't know japanese language enough to know rare names that would mean something to me and weren't familiar from dozens of titles already.
