The mutilation of the skill trees has made replay-ability for me.....shall we say, less than i thought

I'm the opposite, OP. I've completed the game with two different characters and am working on a third. I also have 3 other characters I've gotten to various points. I actually think I've had more fun on my 2nd and 3rd playthroughs than on my first since I understood the battle system better and had a better plan for what levels were best for various areas and how the quests were laid out. I can see how someone could get bored, but I'm not to that point yet for whatever reason.

I ploughed 72 hours into my first play through with a female rogue and loved every second. I still enjoyed a second run with an elf mage. I abandoned a couple of others because after a few hours I realized I really didn't like their faces

I have to say I've been attempting a completionist playthrough with a warrior and I've had to step away from it. I'm not sure I'd term all the quests "boring" but too much exposure in too short amount of time may be to blame. The more I've played the more my interest has waned. Regardless of what character I select the play through's don't feel distinctly different enough despite making different decisions.

I enjoyed the game but I cannot forsee replaying it to the same extent I have DAO and DA2.

This game can be considered the most boring DA game ever without holding back. All you need to do is to think of all the fetch quests you attempted to fall asleep. Like the one where yo-... oh no... zzz zz...

LOL x10

This game is so boring... and still has horrible PC controls...

So, I guess its to back playing Skyrim with latest ENB, parallax HD textures, 200+ mods.. Graphically it looks better, content wise it blows this game away, and its over 3 years old.

Not bored, but I exhausted the default story, so I am playing Origins and DA2 now to change things up when I play DAI again!

tbh choices dont make that much of a difference, an you could use the keep, but im guessing you prefer playing through previous titles :)

There isn't a single thing any of you lot have listed in your complaints that couldn't be said about all RPG's.

Yes, you do spend hours on end point grinding, fighting countless waves of the same enemies in succession, exploring huge environments and wading through armour and weapon stats - that's what RPG's are.

If you find that stuff boring, then you don't like RPG's. Nothing wrong with that, but then why the hell you'd spend money on an RPG only to come on its website complaining that it's too RPG is beyond me....0o

I swear you people just like complaining (or should that be 'whining'?).

It sounds like the only other RPG's you have played are the Elder Scrolls, which are also very, very boring to many people. I wasn't bored for a moment in most RPGs that I have played. DAI bored me very nearly as much as vanilla Skyrim did (thank goodness for Mods, my Skyrim is now absolutely fantastic!). If it wasn't for wanting to finish at least a single playthrough of the main story I would have never bothered to finish. Like all other RPGs? Not a chance. Try some GOOD RPGs (i.e. Baldur's Gate series, IWD, FO3, FNV, DAO, and as much as I hate to say it, even DA2. Maybe The Witcher 1,2 if you can stand the awful combat). Key RPG elements include great characters, great stories, intelligent combat (NO AWESOME BUTTON!), interesting puzzles, agonizing decisions, fun exploration, etc. What you describe as "RPG" elements are more like MMO elements...

So we aren't complaining about DAI BEING an RPG, we are complaining that it's not really much of an RPG anymore, and more an exercise in the curing of insomnia.

I'm on my third playthrough and for the very first time I got a little bored while running through the Exalted Plains.

I've just decided not to worry about closing every single rift anymore and there are certain areas I have unlocked that I am not going to bother exploring again.

Playing around with different builds still keeps it interesting for me. I seem to be having a hard time getting disapproval from some companions so that's another thing I will work on in my next play through.

I'm still trying to get through the content...but uggg. A seemingly endless stream of meaningless combat and fetch quests is making it a chore. Struggling just to get to Skyhold.

I burned out 3/4 through playthrough 5. The crashes caused by the latest patch have made it just too frustrating to finish.

I'd like to see them give us the ability to skip the intro/prologue and begin when the inquisitor wakes up in Haven. (The character could be given a random range of gold/equipment/harvestables.) One of the largest roadblocks to beginning another play-through for me is the idea of that long intro you need to go through. Even if you don't take the time to scoop up loot, you still have a bunch of tutorial style battles, introductions and the stupid Pride demon at the end.

I've only done two and a half playthoughs (went back to Mass Effect after the second).  While the new announcements of the patch are intriguing...I don't feel tempted back.  I think I'd need a tactics overhaul or (decent) DLC (and even then, I'd be waiting a week to see (actual player) reviews to really make me interested in the game again.
