Sacrifice or Dark Ritual?

I originally picked sacrifice, as it fit the tone of the arc. Then the epilogue said that Leiliana killed herself. So I went back and did the ritual. My mage was a blood mage that sold Connor's soul for power, and romanced Morrigan before choosing Leli after seeing the relationship wasn't going anywhere, so it fit the character.

I found Witch Hunt to be 100 times better if you simply knocked Morrigan up without the ritual, and kept the ring she gives you. The search feels a lot more personal. The involves sacrificing the other Warden obviously.

This is logical thinking.

As long as you ignore the question of what happens when the last old god rises.  Killing it won't send the darkspawn back underground...so how do you win?  In fact in the absence of something that will kill all the breeders underground the optimum solution might be to always keep an old god around so you can use them at regular intervals to draw the bulk of the darkspawn away from inhabited lands.

My Elven warden decided dying for nothing means nothing and won't change a thing so,he does the DR. My female Elven warden cons Alistair into doing the DR.

Translation.. I worked to hard on getting Morrigan built into a strong tank mage and don't want to lose hours of work getting her strong enough to help face the AD.

Even if you don't believe that, you should remember whom we're talking about.

Morrigan had always thought that caring about anyone was a weakness and stupid. Learning to put someone first is huge for her.

Yeah and my issue is someone doesn't magically stop being self absorbed narcissist because they squeeze a kid out.

She hardly lied for entire year ,rather didn't told you about DR

In all fairness she still lied for an entire year even if the purpose of those lies were to hide the DR.

First time in Flemeth hut when she said to not know why her mother helped the warden under this question
"Why your mother helped Us?she said to not know
that was the first lie.

Second when she made that scene with Flemet to fool the warden and Alistair when she said that she was not ready, i doubt that she wasn't.

Third during her mother personal quest as is stated into the Toolset.

Four when the warden ask to her why she was sent in random conversation she said again
"I do not know, i do not enjoy this dance"

5 At Redclieffe if she walk away this make her agreement to combat the blight under a clear goal on your order a blatant lie, because she never wanted to pursue that goal unless you do what she want.

I actually find it kind of disgusting. Sorry motherhood doesn't work that way.

XD true that.
The mother who want to steal her daughter body or at least want her daughter to believe it and the daughter who want to use her own child body for a dragon of whom she knew nothing about....
Motherhood work in that way for Mythal.

When the last old god would be killed what will happen?
At best nothing, at worse Solas, Flemeth and Morrigan and every other fan of the old gods will cry under the moonlight "oh so much have been lost !" what a shame that nobody care for the false gods.
Awakened darkspawns are unaffected by the calling and The Architect wasn't the only one capable to conduct the awakening since the disciples of the mother conducted the awakening to the others darkspawns on their own.
The calling also isn't something that only pertains to the old gods, The nightmare demon and Corypheus can do that as well so rest assure that every plan in killing or try to control or eradicate the darkspawns via old gods is doomed to fail and that this is actually an inane reason to want to give a powerboost to an elven god who can crush you with just a thought and can destroy this world just like he did in the past.

On the contrary my warden tought that allowing the same old god archdemon to possibly repeat his performance 400 years later or worse allow Flemeth that was the one who created this ritual to further her plan was pure folly and the denial of the sacrifice of all of those who fought against him the first time

1 lie isn't lying for an entire year , as i said she just didn't told you the truth there is difference.

But i love how you count her every lie even the smallest as you yourself never told a lie. ;)

And no that doesn't make her a liar only traitor , because she intended to help you thus she just failed to fulfill the agreement.

Aren,In the days of my youth we had a saying. Dying for nothing means sheet.. I still believe that.

After all my Elven warden been through I feel that he would share the same thoughts hence the DR..

You think his/her death will change anything for the better for the Elves? I think not.

Yeah and my issue is someone doesn't magically stop being self absorbed narcissist because they squeeze a kid out.

It is mostly what follows after the squeezing that tends to have an effect on you.

There is nothing complicated about it. People change when their life changes. Dedicating yourself to another being that depends on you is very different from the way you'd been living before that point.

And well, how else do you picture a selfish person like Morrigan ever changing? By having a fascinating conversation with someone about the value in caring about others? No, it is far more efficient to actually experience that.

If anything, I cannot believe I'm even explaining this. Are you alright, man? It must've been terrible to grow up in a cold family like that.

Yeah not really.

They do. But there's more than just a child for that trigger.

I expect her to change over time via painful and happy experiences. Not by squeezing out a child. Also lol at the how else do I picture someone selfish changing. Children are not a make a better person button and never have been.

Explaining what? That in a fictional story a chaotic evil character turned into a neutral good because she squeezed a child out? (not to mention how ick I find it that a female needs a man/child to make her from a stupid evil idiot to someone neutral in the first place). Thankfully this can be avoided in game via Redeemer ending but bleh.

As for the comment about my family unless you're trying to say your mother was someone who would've encouraged you to kill your own parents for your gain and completely flipped on that after squeezing you out I don't see the relevance.

My point never was that becoming a mother literally is the only way a selfish person can change.

I said that experiencing a connection where you care about someone else is vital in order to make it happen.

You've mentioned painful/happy experiences and this is one of the many things in the world that can lead to that. Not exclusively, but certainly.

But nevermind the common ground we have just found. Far more important is that you clarified that it all stems from feminist man!phobia and all things related.

Everything makes sense and I can safely say that I'm satisfied now.

And my point was babies don't make someone morally bankrupt a better person. Period. It doesn't work that way. You're not going to go from someone who encourages someone to kill their parents for their gain and an all about me personality to giving a damn about others just because you had a child.

lmfao at feminist manophobia. You have gots to be kidding me. That certainly is a level of stupidity I didn't expect to see.

It has less to do with having and more with raising.

Strange that you went back to where we started instead of bringing something new, but one only offers as much as one can.

Well, that is one more thing we feel differently about. I always do expect a great level of stupidity from you folks. Needing a man is bad...! Motherhood is oppression from the cis scum! (waves fist)

My Canon Warden was in romance with Morrigan, plus the DR simply screamed a more interesting sequelbait storyline so it was a no brainer. There is a tragic charm to the US + human baby, but that scenario would always be second. I'm also on the Pro-Old-Gods team, I refuse to destroy an ancient being without even knowing what it truly is. I always thought of the Archdemons as victims of the Blight like any other. An untainted God could be the key to a final solution for all we know, and I absolutely want to meet one.

None of my female Wardens romanced Alistair, but even if there was one I would still make him do the DR. No harm done in making sure we would both survive and giving a lifelong emotional crutch for a person who could really use one. (I was pretty sure the baby wouldn't have fiery breath and tentacles either way.)

After Inquisition, I'm further convinced to always go Ritualin'. Kieran is too much of a cinnamon roll not to have, I'd feel a bit empty inside.

As for Loghain... I understand the Pro-Redemption people, it's a fair enough ending. I don't deem Loghain to be worthy for that chance though. (I sure wish I could execute him without his daughter watching, I feel bad for Anora.)

Yeah and my issue is someone doesn't magically stop being self absorbed narcissist because they squeeze a kid out.

Except that she turns away from her earlier narcissism even without a kid. In the Temple of Mythal she admits being wrong about Cory wanting the Eluvian in any world state. A true narcissist never admits being wrong. That and she's genuinely humble towards the Inquisitor throughout. Another thing that a narcissist never does.

Perhaps ten years give people plenty of time to be introspective and face their past mistakes, huh.

Again I know it's hard for you to comprehend but raising children doesn't make you a better person.

I see you have a hard time comprehending what I wrote. Nothing wrong with motherhood. Something wrong with it being used as a "softener" for morally dubious women.

That said yes I totally said motherhood was oppression from men. You really showed me with that asspull.

She admitted that Cory didn't want the Eluvian yes and then immediately follows it up with it doesn't matter and they  have to hurry and get it (which was fair enough at that point it didn't but her goal was always the well) but the humility towards the Inquisitor? Where was that? I hope you don't mean after Flemeth pretty much trolls her. You can't really not be humble after that.

It does. That said she does maintain far more of her earlier personality if the DR wasn't performed (another reason I prefer it be avoided). The change feels far more natural.

She says regarding Skyhold (after describing its long history): "You, I think, shall do it justice."
And right after (the Inquisitor didn't want her to join in this playthrough apparently): "I know you did not want me here, Inquisitor. I will do my best to aid your cause with all the knowledge at my disposal. This, I swear to you."

Alternatively, if the Inquisitor accepts her: "You were kind to welcome my aid, Inquisitor, even knowing as little of me as you do. I will do my best to aid your cause with all the knowledge at my disposal. This, I swear to you."

She praises the Inquistor's work in Skyhold (regardless of how much of it is unlocked): "Tis remarkable, what you built. I will give you that. Soldiers are camped outside Skyhold in numbers that would give any nation pause. All this in precious little time, conjured from thin air through the power of fervor alone."

Giving friendly warnings to him: "Beware the heights you reach, Inquisitor. When this is done, many will be eager to knock you back down." (This is exactly what happened in Trespasser btw.)

If the Warden didn't accept the DR in Origins and/or they stabbed her in Witch Hunt: "We did not part on good terms. I regret a great deal, but that most of all."

No snarky comments, no condescension, none of her past bravado. Lots of compliments instead. Even denying her the well resulted in a much smaller tantrum than I expected, not leaving you on the spot this time.

I hope you don't mean after Flemeth pretty much trolls her. You can't really not be humble after that.

You very well could be. Throw a tantrum, shriek in denial, make a pathetic fool of yourself in front of others. She did none of that, even though she could have, based on her Origins persona.

Of course not. People react to experiences differently and thus there is no guarantee that becoming a mother will lead to change. However, it can.

A pathway among many others, as I've mentioned.

Then might I ask what is this ickiness that troubles you so? Surely, there is no harm in a female needing a man, hmm?

She says that right after rubbing it in your face that it's not your choice. As for Skyhold Morrigan has always had a respect for power and influence.

As for friendly warnings you got that in DAO. Romancing Alistair in particular.

That said the reaction to the DR  and the Well was growth. But there's definitely snarky comments and condescension (refusing her help for one gets you this). It's just tempered by her being reasonable which is expected. She's not a 20 year old anymore.

Eh Morrigan didn't like making a fool of herself even in origins. And throwing a tantrum would've achieved nothing and worse if she had ditched them she'd doomed herself as well as them.

It's not really the kid. Bioware recognized that Morrigans morality in DAO is insanity. This is why she toned it down even without Kieran.
