Aggressive.
To expand on that:
Aggressive KE mage or DW dual blade rogue
(when I say aggressive, I don't mean my inquisitors are jerks. They are very nice. I just like to kill things. Violently)

This.
Mark of Death opener + Stealth + sneak behind desired target + passive stealth/ambush bonus + flanking bonuses + Hidden Blades = MEGA DPS.
Deathblow (plus Enhanced Deathblow Ring)+ Detonate Mark of Death = power overwhelming.
Vivienne continually casting barrier and blizzard(or appropriate elemental AOE spells) over battlefield.
Sera/Varric Longshot enemies to death from distance while Cassandra taunts and tanks.
Everyone gaining guard per hit with masterworks.
Enemy dead bodies all over the battlefield... like a Boss.

You must be an intensely frustrated player then, since all the important choices amount to Lawful Neutral vs. Neutral Good.I can do it in one word: Chaotic.

Spam elemental mines to exhaust your stamina, and hope the 100% crit chance refills your stamina almost immediately.

Walk 5 paces.
Spend 40 minutes taking screenshots.
Speak to every possible NPC regardless of how many times I have done before and no matter how incidental.

Marvel at how I've only managed to complete the game once.

Shield Wall: 2 Shield users insulting the enemy whilst a mage and rogue hit from range.
A good way to make it easy early on in Nightmare mode or so I find.

We were hunting druffalo hides and claws to complete the research. Here comes the uninvited guests. The formation gets overwhelmed by a pack of black wolves and a druffalo with one of his sibling watching my group being torn apart. Cassandra falls on the ground. Druffalo begins to charge at Varric. The wolves greet Solas with bared teeth. It appears, the maker smiles upon the inquisition. The Flashpoint buff happens to be on just in time. the inquisitor fade steps in, revives Cassandra and fades out.
At that point I was ready give up and hit "F9" but I took my chance. So my combat style tends to have utility and survivability ever since. I think, it helps if one playing under some condition like Friendly fire.
At last. We conquered a druffalo and with the precious loot... There was no loot. That druffalo didn't drop a thing but I survived. Fair enough. I don't have to go all the way from War table to Crestwood again.

Also winters grasp is great for single target cc.
Knight enchanter allows me to melee if enemies get too close. (now with the changes to spirit blade, it has only.given my character a boon for my particular play style).
Prior the recent patch, my tempest rogue focused on archery, using flask of frost for DR in a pinch, fire for explosive arrow spam, and lightning for disrupting fade rifts and resurrecting allies.
Post patch, my templar has now.become a literal storm of death in battle. The duration hit was a bit of a bummer, but the bonus lightning damage for hitting people suits melee so so well.
I actually use the taunt upgrade now, and after it.expires i pop lightning flask and spinning blades. Hit everyone and when its over they're THUNDERSTRUCK!!!!!
To be honest, was gonna delete my tempest but he is soooo.much better now.

As a mage, i tend to like to lay down control and aoe, lots and lots of aoe dot. Immolate has been my favorite spell since the game first came out.

1. Explore every meter of every new area
2. Collect all herbs/metals, grab all loot, and read all writings in my path
3. Do every possible side mission
4. Rotate in and out party members as suits the area/missions or whether I've heard their banter yet
5. Watch for fun, artistically-crafted locations to saunter in (or scenic vistas)
6. Oh, and then do a story mission...
Any new area or side mission crops up? Repeat til game says I'm done... Wait, but I didn't finish one obscure side quest first! I failed!!!
