That you're willfully ignoring stuff that the patch did to focus on your pet grievances. Sorry if I was unclear.

I'm not ignoring them, I simply rate them are much less than removing the glitches.

I read through the notes and weighed them in my head.  I just came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth it.  Sure it patched mind blast, but since I rarely use that skill I put it under the "not good enough" catagory.  Just because I come up with a different option doesn't mean I didn't read it.

I wish I could tell you how to proceed but I can only guess.  If you opt out of the patch you may still be able to import you Keep world state, if the keep hasn't been updated to only accept games with the patch installed. Basically you will be online but without the patch.  The Keep has obviously worked for games with patch 2 and earlier. If it has then you will either have to settle for the default or suck it up and get the patch.  Another thing I'm not sure about is if you can connect to EA servers without the patch as I have been scared to try it.

The instant I read the patch notes I started 3 new games with imported world states just to avoid this problem.

It will not let me log in without installing latest update so like you said I will either have to use default or suck it up and get the patch.  Right now I'm gonna take a break and play some others games I got from PSN: Resident Evil and Dying Light.

You presented your subjective opinion as objective statement of fact. The patch did not fix nothing. It's not all about you.

I was asked my opinion (which is always subjective BTW) and I gave it.  I also stated why I came to this conclusion.  Again just because I disagree with you doesn't mean I didn't do my research.

Is that gamebreaking bug at the palace in Orlais fixed? Unable to play since late November because of it. I would like to continue my game and finish the game.....sometime....ever.

Atleast the option to update came automatically for me when I started playing the game while connected to xBox live. :S The Patch notes should be found on a different Thread.

Do you know if uninstalling the game will remove the patch?  Will it get rid of the game saves as well?

Usually when I get a new game it will ask me to do an update, not sure if uninstalling and reinstalling will accomplish that.

You're forgiven. :D

I meant no offense, it's just a part of my humour. Sorry, really if you took it to heart Captain! :C I just wanted to point out that Allan asked that this thread be patch related only, not a general discussion thread. I could've chosen my words better, I apologize. My sarcasm sometimes gets the best of me..(<--not sarcasm!)

You can uninstall but when you reinstall it will automatically download the latest version. There is no way to revert once you've updated. You can "test" a patch by backing up your installation folder and save games, downloading the patch and if you don't like it then delete your install folder and replace it with the backed up copy. You may need to reactivate your installation on Origin, but it should be fine. A lot of people did this with Patch 2 since so many were reporting their game broke and they could not revert to an unpatched game.

As for the patch on consoles, it is supposed to be going live today, but no specific time has been given:

http://answers.ea.co...253620#U4253620

Edit: actually there are specific times given:

  • Xbox One/Xbox 360 - 1:00 AM PST
  • PS3/PS4 - 10:00 AM PST

I'm not upset, I can play the game without any major problem. But fixes are always welcome.

Regardless of how you feel about the item duping, I cannot recommend this patch.  It doesn't open up Solas' 2nd quest, many things like "bleed on hit" still don't work, combo detonators also don't work with 2H skills etc.  I think the main attraction is to toggle walk/run..... As far I can tell it took away more than it gave and hence not worth it.  Maybe one day in the future you will use the duping glitch or just use the influence glitch to get that one perks.  At least the option will be there.  If you get this patch you lose that option for NOTHING in return.

These two patches really makes me wonder where BW's priorities are.  I just hope post like this won't be censored.  It would be nice to hear from Allen as to why this was at the top of there to do list when so many more pressing issues are at hand.

Yeah, I would also like to know why they decided to fix glitches that didn't harm the gameplay (we know they were both present in the previous games, and this makes me think they were there on purpose) instead of focusing on bugs that didn't allow customers to actually play the game.

The problem is that if I decide not to update the game, then I won't be able to connect on the Keep, so I cannot start a new game with an imported world state

The default world really sucks.

I know I'm not the only one that's more than a bit irritated with the crafting item duplication glitch being taken away with the new patch (1.04). Does anyone know how to revert back to the previous patch? I just started playing and was really getting into crafting, and the game in general. I know the exploit could be used for mass cash, but few people actually use it, and it's not usable on multi-player, as well as being difficult to get the hang of at first, I don't see the point of them patching it to begin with. Crafting is one of the things I enjoy most about games like these, and when it's difficult to do, then that takes much of the fun out of the game (for me at least).

This is something that shouldn't have been messed with. Some people complained that it was still there, but why would it affect them unless they were exploiting it in the first place? If you don't want to use it, then don't. I personally enjoy having any resource available to me any time I want it for crafting anything I desire at any given time (when I'm in the right places, such as armories that is of course).

This is really my only complaint about the patch that I've come across. Many of the other things that needed to be fixed, were.

I'm playing on Xbox one, so if anyone knows how to revert back to the previous patch, I would greatly appreciate it if they could explain how.

Seconded. All of it. Especially if anyone knows how to effectively 'undo' the patch on Xbox One.

All I can suggest turn off auto updates, then completely uninstall the game and reinstall it.  See if it asks you if you want to update and select "no".  This means you will not be getting the first two patches, you can't go on Keep to import world state and you can only play offline (and all that entails).  Let me know if that works.

That's quite useful thanks.  How would you back up your install folder though?  Like to a flashdrive?

The only time it asks you to update is when your game version is different from the version on the server. then it offers the patch. If you download fresh it downloads the latest version on the server, up to patch 4. I've seen many people on the EA Answers forum asking where to download the patch from after they install the game, only to find out the game version they have installed is 1.0.0.5, the latest version up to patch 4.

Just create a backup folder on your hard drive or a flash drive or anywhere you like, as long as it is outside of the current installation directory and copy all the files there. It is a duplicate of the current install. That is all the instruction I ever saw. I did backup my folder, but never had to try reactivating it because patch 2 was OK for me. Still holding off on patch 3/4 due to the reported party banter issue, and it is not worth testing out the rest of the features. Nothing I can't live without.

Are you taking into account that some of us are on consoles such as Xbox, and Playstation?
