Agreed, not everyone has time to sit around trying to farm an endless amount of items.... especially when most of these items become unavailable after quest lines are completed or the enemies are killed (ie. Dragons don't respawn).

Another key issue that irritates the crap out of me is the FORCED DA Keep story intigration.

OK I get it that they did this in order to get rid of logic errors, but here is where I have a HUGE ISSUE with this feature:

1. In order to incorporate a custom world setting from previous games you have to build it in the DA Keep.... FINE, whatever....

2. In order to actually make use of this feature when starting a new playthrough however, you are forced to download and install whatever patch (1.02, 1.03, 1.04 etc.) prior to being able to create your character for DAI.

Basically NO PATCH = NO CUSTOM WORLD story = LAME LAME  LAME......

They need to make a downloadable version of the DA Keep custom world generator that works for ALL platforms (PC, PS3/4, and Xbox One/360) ...... this way people who would like to revert to playing under an unpatched, un-BW-Dev-screwed up patched world can delete the patch information and be able to have their glitched, but playable according to how they like to play world.

Or at the very least let it stay in the memory of the game afterwards.

Well, if they patch chest-farming I'm out. Either have all schematics purchasable (or quest-dependant in certain cases) or leave the damned chest-farming alone. I simply do not understand Bioware's "You only have a random chance to get (coveted item) and only limited opportunities to do so in one playthrough!" approach to loot-distribution in these DA games. They ought to be fully aware of the completist nature of their fans. Is turning the game into a trial and error reload-fest meant to be especially enjoyable?

the whole need to even chest farm is one of the biggest failures of the game I spent 6 hours trying to get that stupid dalish warrior armor for my elf warrior.  If they remove that without adding a viable loot solution  I will mail the game back to bioware's devs after putting it in my microwave.

So will this game ever be playable? I got this game in November and haven't even got to play it yet cause I can’t even finish character creation because of the Direct X crashes

Welp. Went from 1 party banter an hour to zero. Patch has fully killed any and all conversation. I had so little to lose, I didn't realize how much worse it could get.

Really hoping this gets solved soon. Parts of the game really become something of a slog when you're just running around doing errands and fighting creatures with nothing to break up the silence.

What they need to add is randomized Merchants that sell at your level..

They need to remove level Ranges on the maps and have loot drop at your level..

They need to add more gear and more customizable gear.

Try using older drivers worked for me i'm on 344.75.. Nvidia no clue on ATI..

No crashes since, still get stutter though..

A few problems that I've run into with Patch 4:

Party banter: I've been trying to get Solas and Iron Bull to do their mental chess match and so far they don't talk. They haven't talked since I've recurited Iron Bull. I've been running with Blackwall, Iron Bull, and Solas as a Female Elf Two-Handed Rogue who is attempting to romance Solas. Iron Bull and Blackwall have had one, maybe two, conversations; both of which occurred after going to Skyhold. I avoid using mounts in the hopes that I can get some sort of banter, but this hasn't worked out for me.

In my first playthrough as a Male Human Mage, I was had Solas, Iron Bull, and Cassandra and was able to get a few pieces of banter and was able to start the chess match. Not sure what happened between Patch 1 and Patch 4, but party banter has decreased for me.

I have a few minor problems such as being unable to click on an item with my mouse to open it, unable to use my mouse to make custom paths for party members in tactical view, and being unable to use the mouse to move. I guess I'm just a fairly lazy person who enjoys being able to do many of my actions with just the mouse and as such the lack of an auto attack and click-to-move is a little annoying. This is easily remedied with using a controller, however I definitely feel more comfortable using keyboard and mouse because of the potential of assigning more buttons. In fact, I've used the controller so much I don't actually remember if the UI changes based on controller type. So, to be fair, patch 4 might have fixed my mouse interactions with the environment, but I wasn't able to find anything relating to this problem in the changelog.

I really appreciate the run/walk toggle and would like an sort of middle ground speed as well, but I suppose that isn't as important as other things. Honestly, I would be incredibly happy if my party banter was fixed.

Also, I'm not sure where to mention this problem I had with the game. It might actually just be an Origin thing. But I share this PC with one other person using the same Windows 8.1 profile. When we switch Origin profiles on the PC we run into a problem where the game shows us ever character either of us has created. In addition we find that using "continue" sometimes loads the most recently played character, regardless of which profile it belongs to. This wasn't that big of a problem until recently when syncing to the cloud in one of our profiles seemed to have deleted the other's save files. We didn't realize that it had deleted the save files until after I had saved and resynced to the cloud. We tried reverting to the previous cloud save, but was unsuccessful. What ended up solving the problem was restarting the computer, which doesn't make any sense to me but it definitely worked.

Thanks for working on fixing these problems! And in case it wasn't clear, fixing party banter is the most important for me.

I patched so i could get solas quest. got the quest, it doesn't even have a cutscene, hell, solas doesn't even mention it.

Banter is now officially broken and dupes are gone, still getting some glitched quests (there is one in the fort at Emprise that i can't get).

At least no performance issues were added.

Don't patch unless you plan to play online, i was MUCH happier with 1.02.

Is there a workaround to get banter working again?

I have played Dragon Age: Origins repeatedly - more times than I can count - along with the expansion pack (Awakening) and any other DLC that came out for Origins. This was my first game and I got addicted to it fast. I learned all the lore that I could, but I still wanted more. You can imagine the thrill when I learned that there were books to this addicting franchise. I've read Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne, Dragon Age: The Calling, Dragon Age: Asunder, Dragon Age: The Masked Empire, and Dragon Age: The Last Flight.

I have also played Dragon Age II and all of its DLC. Read all the comic books and watched “Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker.”

Guess what I’m playing now? That’s right!!! Dragon Age: Inquisition.

THE POINT: I've been a very loyal fan to BioWare’s Dragon Age franchise and have NEVER used any exploits.

HOWEVER: As I played inquisition I realized that there is a new and unique feature to the game. You get to create your own arms and armor! How cool! THEN I realized you need to collect your own materials. HMM, well what is going to be the best material for the ultimate arms and armor rating? DRAGON MATERIALS, like scales and bone, kind of like IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN. Except now we only get to fight 10 dragons? So what does this mean? Well it means that only ONE of my characters gets to have dragon armor... WTF... At least in Origins you could buy the arms and armor made of dragon materials at Wade's shop and dress your entire party in it you you all MATCH. Sorry, I know it's OCD, but whatevs.

OH and if you are trying to make it a masterwork item. HAHAHA good luck.

BIOWARE... Can you see how patching the duplicate exploit has made the game frustrating? Now we have to settle for mediocre arms and armor. And why do we want to waste our time searching for other tier 3 materials that drop at random? I think more people are interested in actually playing the game and discovering the story/lore that spending hours collecting materials.

IT WAS THE ONE THING I GOT AWAY WITH BIOWARE, THE ONE THING. LOL for myself anyways.  :P  :(

Well my party wasn't exactly talkative before, but now they have gone completely mute and it starts to feel very lonely. The new trusty crashes do liven things up a bit though. This is the first game that actually makes me want to get rid of a patch. Is that common? Maybe I was spoilt.

It's their new strategy.

Sell you a half-assed/broken game.

If you complain they "patch" it until you either quit complaining or every character you create dies immediately after CC.

Do you want to keep playing?

Better shut up or they'll "patch" it again.

People, perhaps it's a good idea to mention the platforms you're playing on. I usually check here every now and then to see if any new bugs/problems have popped up or if old ones are still present. But since I don't play DAI on all 3 platforms, if someone mentions having a problem without adding which platform he's on then I can't really do much with that information. (And I imagine people from Bioware have the same problem)

Is BioWare even reading these posts?

Honestly I'm not a big fan of the BioWare Or the dragon age saga, but after I bought the game for my curiosity, I come to enjoy it, until I went on YouTube and learn about the dupe/gold exploits and I Really started to enjoy it more. I mean after a long days work I would hop on the game, see what I can craft up to enjoy without having to farm, it was a very unique fun tool, and because of that exploit I purchased previous dragon age games to get in to the DA world.

But now after a long day, I come home, turn on the game, try to play with the game, instead of losing my mind in crafting, now I have no choice to mindlessly farm, which makes the game kinda dull, if I wanted to waste my time farming, I would of joined my son on a life wasting MMO game like WoW or whatever mmo that's out there.

I mean make changes to the multiplayer gameplay, not the single player mode which is doing no harm except increasing the enjoyment of others. But as for now, I won't be playing the DAI game as much as before, like I want to, shoot I might have to return the game to the store.

So please BRING BACK THE GOLD/DUPE EXPLOITS for console players such as myself and others, thank you.

Reporting in with a few findings for the BioWare ppl.

  • Oddly enough, I never had the issue with Dorian's cutscene at the tavern not firing. After Patch 3/4, I did. Took running back & forth & only having Dorian in my party & only going in when music was playing (Wat?) for it to fire
  • Banter is stable for me in the Hinterlands, Storm Coast, Crestwood and the Exalted Plains but the Western Approach was almost mute by comparison. (2 banters in 4 hours and no environment comments at all) I also noticed that those comments will sometimes happen (I.E. Varric talking about mages & templars fighting) when they're no longer relevant.
  • Regarding the banters again: I'm actually more focused on them atm, timing them & making sure to get my guys to a "quiet" spot for it to fire, just in case. This seems to work in most cases, except for the Western Approach (So far), even with people who haven't bantered with each other at all yet.
  • The non leveled loot is an immersion/killer tbh because finding gorgeous unique elven armor is awesome but having to use standard crafted stuff instead because of the fixed levels for even unique items makes me a very sad panda. Could the modders do something here? Could BioWare add more stuff, schematics, mats & what not? Also New Game + to be able to use this stuff for longer than a few hours would be nice.......
  • IDK if it's just me but the Fetch Quests for companions make it a bit too easy to swim in approval no matter what.....ok, ok, they're optional. And it's def. better handled than DAO with it's useless gift spam......but I kinda miss the Friendship/Rivalry system from DAII.

Now, idk what cut features/content BioWare plans to patch in (They said they would, I hope we're talking actual content patches & not just bug fixes?) but here are a few things I'd like to see:

  • More upgrades to Skyhold. As in fixing walls, roofs, destroyed rooms, furniture etc.
  • More features for Keeps. (I was so looking forward to everything they had announced & then 90% of it was cut)
  • If anything needs to be "nerfed" it's Power. It's far too easy to get. Either match it with more wartable missions/quests OR reduce it/increase costs.
  • Requisitions should do more than supplying Power IMHO. Give use some story related requisitions. (Like Mother Giselle's & Threnn's at Haven)
  • Fix dialogue bugs (Esp. obvious ones like Dalish Quizzies not "knowing" who Mythal is, that was even confirmed as a bug, so please). & add more options. (I'm sure there's lots of cut stuff to choose from)
  • DLC/Expansions. Not just small DLC, give use meaty stuff. Not right away, announcements & DLC to tie us over will do just fine. This game is a gem but also a diamond in the rough in certain places, so polish it. (And not the treatment DAO got either)

I haven't included obvious stuff like the TAC CAM (Which they're already working on) and other much reported issues, just a few things I felt might make the game a bit more immersive and replayable. :P

Well, I wish I had read up on the patch more before installing. I now have decreased banter instead of increased, and still can't get Solas' 3rd quest. Also, still no final mosaic piece in the Hinterlands. I must say, though, I've been totally enjoying the game, even with the few glitches I've run into. Maybe I'm too new to the world of gaming and RPG to get it, but seems to be a lot of bitching about small things.

Is BioWare even reading these posts?

I believe Allan is, but he is only one of the very few. I think he is not even a designated community manager or someone whose job is regularly talking to us. I believe he does it, because he cares and kudos to him.

I hate this "fix" as well, it doesn't make the game more challenging, the only thing it does is making the game more tedious because of how terribly the rng loot system was designed. I would very much like to hear the reason for it, was it to artificially increase the gameplay time? Or was it just an easy way how to do? For lot of people, including myself, the game lost its replayability, because at least I can't be arsed to play through this mmo-style grindfest again. Never have I ever seen this in a SP game, grinding for both schematics and special materials or materials that have very limitited supply.

But I don't think they are ever going to introduce an exploit back in the game. More likely I am expecting armor / weapons DLC, honestly I am a bit surprised that at least one such DLC hasn't come out yet.

The Solas's quest was the 1 good thing that the patch brought for me. When I activated like 90-95% of his artifacts, a war table mission appeared and upon its completion I received the quest "What lies dormant". Tbh it was utter disappointment, I took Solas with me and he hasn't said a single word (the whole party was silent). I just fought a generic high lvl rift and that was it. I can't say if there was at least an approval boost since Solas's approval was already at max.

I'm guessing the quest you're not getting is "They Shall Not Pass." The bug occurs if you repair the bridge before being asked to investigate by the NPC at the keep. The quest is essentially him asking you to do something that you've already done.

I'm with everyone else on here that won't be applying the update due to the dupe exploit being removed. As someone that has 5 inquisitors of various race/class/sex running the last thing I want to do is have the story(s) grind to a halt on all of them so I can spend countless hours farming. I want to keep playing and exploring with these characters without it feeling endlessly tedious. I'm not sure why this was addressed before some of the other issues or even at all as it doesn't hurt game play. If it stays out we should be given other alternatives to getting more materials that doesn't make us want to bang our heads against a wall. Which IS actually preferable to endless farming.

Wow!!!

This is like Diablo 3 all over again. Can't let customers enjoy the game.

Why fix the dupe items? I had six different characters, now I can't play them.

My ps4 automatically downloaded this patch. I knew it was coming, but I didn't realize my ps4 would download it without my approval. I deleted the game and now I can't access dragon's keep without the patch. My ps4 keeps trying to install it, so the game is glitchy and slow. It's like you are being punished if you download the patch. I don't understand why they care. It makes replaying the game a pain.

Why fixed the dupes? You didn't fix it in DAO. It took me 120 hours to complete my first play through of DAI. How much more time do you want us to spend? This kills any replay for me.

I have a job (crazy hours) and a family, so I don't have time to farm for resources. Now this kills my desire to play anymore.

The dupe glitch doesn't make you any better at higher levels.

Please bring back the dupe glitch.

I can't load my save games. The ps4 thinks my game is still installing, because I haven't downlaoded the patch.

They are forcing us to play their way.

Just wanting to also voice my sadness at the removal of the dupe glitch. My ps4 updated automatically without my knowing. I spent sooooo many hours on my first playthrough trying to get the stuff I needed; I am not doing that again. Like many, this removes the replay value of the game for me, as I really enjoyed crafting and kitting my team out in stuff I liked, but I simply can't face grinding forever. I mean, I cannot justify the amount of time it takes.

My dad died last month and Inquisition has been a lifesaver, it really has. I don't want to complain about the game because of how much it now means to me. But dammit, this 'fix' has seriously removed one of the most enjoyable aspects for me, as I'm a weirdo and would rather craft than quest.

Good evening Bioware folks *waves*

If you do read this stuff, I'm not here to yell at you.  Just to inform.  Despite what my forum name and post count might suggest, hubby and I have hung with you since Baldur's Gate.  We'll continue to.  Have to admit, DA2 scared me a bit though. ;)

Anyway ... to the heart of it.  XBox One players.  Much prefer the PC versions but that will have to wait for a new rig so right now it's XBox One.  Single player.  Never Multiplayer ... left that behind when Neverwinter Nights died out.

The patch borked my games.  Oddly enough, hubby's is fine.  All mine were corrupted.  Not mad, just informing :)

Since I had to create a new game, I'm only mucking about the Hinterlands right now and party banter is zero.  We actually weren't having a huge issue with it before.  Now, unfortunately, we are.  Hubby plays on weekends and he's at around 160 hours so I'll have him fire it up this weekend and see if his games still have banter.

Another odd thing.  Since the patch, we have a harder time connecting to dragon age servers than before.  Not sure if this is patch related or what but we have to totally unplug the XBox, let it sit then plug everything back in and fire it up so it connects.  It's weird.

Don't know anything about the farming/duping stuff so can't speak to that.  I would like to ask though that some of these things like decorative gems be obtained a different way if stuff like that won't respawn after certain stages.  Some players don't read the spoilers, have a guide or anything else so we have no idea that things like those may be needed down the line some time and need to make sure we have enough for said ... things to craft :)  So a way for us to aquire these items if we are "late to the party" so to speak would be a nice thing.

Thanks for reading and it's nice to see you back!  Enjoying the heck out of this game.  Keep them coming!  Errrr ... except for the hairs ;)

Bioware fire your beta testers.

They're incompetent.
