In my experience, SLI and Crossfire always had lots of bugs, often left unfixed by Nvidia/AMD for many, many games.  Sometimes you'd even get worst performances with SLI/Crossfire than a single card.

Not that it ain't annoying, but it's not something basic, and the problems experiences are often on the driver side of things, not the game developpers.

I have 100+ games in my steam library alone, many other EA AAA titles such as Battlefield 4 (also on the frostbite engine) and none of them suffer issues with SLI like DA:I does.  So, no, it's not a situation of "Always had lots of bugs", it's rare to have such ugly and immersion breaking issues in any game with SLI.  As I mentioned before, the frostbite engine in BF4 handles SLI amazingly well and gains almost all of the scaling on offer from 2 cards when using SLI.  If the base engine clearly can handle the SLI configurations then it's abundantly clear that the problems have been introduced from elsewhere...

This is also not some obscure indi title with a limited budget where SLI working or not is not going to be a big concern, this is a game that was advertised as having PC as the lead platform in development by Producer Cameron Lee, this is a AAA title built on an engine that has a track record of working extremely well with SLI set ups in the Frostbite engine.  If any title out of the games I've recently purchased should have had SLI working well, it's DA:I, it doesn't.

No friggin banter. (again?) I restarted a 60 hour playthrough because I heard if you restart you will hear banter again but low and behold, nada. And you removed item duping. Why? This is really, really disheartening. I dropped 350$ on a PS4 for this game (because I don't have the 800+ dollars it takes to get a gaming computer that will run this nicely) and this is what paying customers get?

Please fix your ****, EA. And stop releasing patches that BREAK THINGS.

my experiences with SLI dates a bit, but I tried Crossfire a few years ago, and it was the same crap.

A quick look to Google gave me a full page of links to people having problems with their games and SLI in Windows 8.1.  BF4 (all Windows version) had serious issues with SLI on release, Nvidia fixed it later.  The Crysis games all had problems with SLI.  In fact, the first Crysis convinced me of dropping SLI.  The second one convinced me of getting rid of Crossfire.  Nowadays, I invest more for a better card.

Apparently, there's a new Nvidia driver out today, I'd recommend you try it, and see if it hopefully fixes your problem.

I am sorry you have problems with your game, in my case, running a AMD card with the Mantle API, I have had zero crash/freeze/slowdowns since day 1 and the first AMD beta driver for DA:I.

I think EA/Bioware worked closely with AMD for this game instead of Nvidia and that means AMD was ready while Nvidia was not.  It happens.  In other games, you'll see the opposite.

Don't know much about PS4 issues, but at first, I too had issues with party banter on my PC.

To fix it, I started switching party constantly.  Take some people for a mission, go back to Haven/camp, swith party, run around, go back&switch.  Eventually, they started talking to each other.  In fact, I just wished Varric would shut up after a while :P

Ok, sorry, seriously, that was before the 1st patch (I nearly finished my game before they release the 1st patch  ), and apparantly they added fixes for that (wich don't seem to be working), but I'd tried my suggestions if I were you, just to see if you can start it up.

A couple of things re the patch on PS4

There is now an issue with leaving the Grand Ballroom for the Vestibule in Wicked Hearts.  When in the Ballroom at the door to the Vestibule, sometimes the X is for the Vestibule, but if you move a bit to the right, the X says Grand Ballroom.  If you click Grand Ballroom, the room you're already in, by mistake it can glitch, especially when you're supposed to go talk to Leliana after being introduced to Celene.  If you make sure to hit the right X, you're alright, but otherwsie at the very least, you're looking at a very long load time.  Not sure why I'm suddenly seeing the X from the wrong side of the "door".  Never had a problem with this part pre-patch.

Also, I had some banter issues pre-patch, but then banter returned (after I deleted a character, so maybe that was why?).  Siince the patch, I've played about 20 hours and have 3 or fewer banters (although I do get environmental comments).  Doesn't seem to matter where I am - Hinterlands, Emerald Graves, Exalted Plains, Crestwood, etc. - eerily quiet.  Tried mixing up my party, hanging out doing nothing (so exciting!), etc., but nothing seems to get my folks - primarily Cass, Solas and Cole - to talk.  Pre-patch in the current playthrough I had decent banter, maybe not firing as much as I would like, but at least firing occasionally.  Now I'm back to eery quiet, it's kind of creepy.

I have the exact same problem on the ps3, as well as long loading times for anything (cutscenes, moving to another area) and as for the dup-item why get rid of it. It was doing no harm, and it was there for us who wanted to use it. I like the crafting but I hate farming hours on end for stuff. i wish we could have had the option for downloading this patch..oh well thank goodness I don't mind making another ps account, uninstalling the patch, turn off the internet, and play with no patch.

Not sure how it works with the playstation consoles but from what happened to me if you make a character with the new patch then uninstall the patch the game will not allow you to load the save until you re-install the patch.

I'm on PS4 and didn't have many problems save for one quest (the Western Approach on where Servis never shows up) and I had no idea the patch was auto updated, but I should have known because banter dropped enormously. I never had trouble with banter before, but now it's silent more often than not.

It gave me an excuse to just finish up the campaign rather than wander around to find the last few mosaics I'm missing while listening to my companions bicker. I won't be starting another game until things are up to par again.

What about doing something with the PC controls? They are still bad. And can someone at Bioware PLEASE reply to me?! Also can you patch in queue attack? I dont use the tactical camera often because I cant be annoyed constantly switching after everyone has done one move, and also please fix the bad tactical camera!

First off

-Party Banter triggering has gotten so much worst and is not happening at all on my game

Second

-Since you guys got rid of the infinite material and money exploit I just can't play the game anymore. I love Dragon age but I also want the right armor that fits my tastes and I don't have time to go around gathering these materials.

Yeah I kind of figured, still bums me out to no end though. And since I put in the patch I imminently had two freezes I think I'll forgo any more runs until that's fixed that or just import the default world state so I can play offline without the patch. Though not being able to have my custom states kind of sucks as well.

New bug with your new patch!

Now, sometimes, I get attacked during the cutscenes! I can still choose the dialogues options and when the game resumes, I doesn't get any damages from the time I talked but it is quite an Immersion Breaking one.

Oh, and during this cutscenes, the characters close their lips while they talk. Cutscene PS1 power!

Ability queuing in tac mode would be amazing, even if it's something as basic as to move then do something.  Tactical mode is just too fiddly when trying to move people around and pause when they get there, click their ability, pause...move the other guy who moved while you were doing that other thing but then decided he didn't want to go where you told him and instead moved back in to melee range, because mages love a bit of danger in their lives.

So after EXTENSIVE testing after accidentally DL'ing the patch (about 35 seconds with load times) I have come to the conclusion they simply just don't allow the mats to be sold at all, basically taking another source of revenue away. What if I don't want 500 stormheart from the Arbor Wilds? Now I can't sell them in a pinch if I'm a few hundred gold short of a SUPER RARE schematic that you've been searching for in the Hissing Wastes?

Hi - if you're still reading this thread, can you clarify what it is you can't sell?  Just went back into game, all current patches, and I can sell mats just fine.  I've never used a dup bug or glitch of any kind, and I gathered all the mats I have: loaded in to Skyhold, used the "banner" shop there in the undercroft, and can sell mats.  Or were you referring to something else I'm missing..?

Side note: it seems i have 145 Dawnstone.  I can perhaps stop compulsively mining every node of it I see...

I didn't have a big issue with banter before the patch. It wasn't constant but I got it every once in a while. Now? Nothing at all. Even after two+ hours. I'm so bummed. Like a lot of people, banter is one of my favorite parts of the game. :(

And I heard some people had luck starting their games over but I have 3 saves. All of which were right before the Arbor Wilds. It took me forever to get to that point.

I've been having other issues too but for some reason this one ticks me off the most.

I don't have time to read all the previous posts, but I wanted to share my experience with a bug that has popped up after installing the latest patch on my Xbone. Every time I try to start the "Under Her Skin" quest by traveling to Val Royeaux, when I have my character enter the Vicinius building the game crashes. I was able to complete this quest prior to one of the more recent patches, but no matter what I do now, it crashes every single time. I have tried reinstalling the game twice with no luck. I know other people have had the same exact problem.
Anyway, I don't want to proceed without completing this quest, so I hope you guys can fix it in the next patch, thanks.

Hi Tres - I see you've (as of the above) only made 4 posts.  Did you register recently to find out about DA:I issues, or are you a long-time lurker?  Curious as to what's bringing new folks here now.

After a month of staying away from PC gaming (stupid eye issues; eye strain and an involuntary eyelid twitch) and getting a new video card since my old one was kicking the bucket, I finally patched DA:I up to date.  I started a new character, and I got inspired to roll up my first "sword n board" warrior in the DA games.  I'm not out of the Temple area yet, but I've noticed a couple of things.  I'm running two mods now*, but this was done without them.:

1) The walk toggle is still broken.  I tried it, thinking they had fixed it this patch.  Nope, once you start to strut, you shall shake that booty very slowly until you close out your game.  I'm not touching that one again.  I got through a character and a half without it.   I'll go back to my mage eventually   I know there's a mod for it, but eh...screw it.

2) There has been some weird audio issues since the patch.  Mainly, it keeps "popping" in the middle of conversations during a cutscene.  It isn't very frequent, but it is there and it's a recent development.   It has cut out altogether once, briefly. I saw the subtitles for Cass, I saw her mouth move, but it took about 3 seconds for the audio to catch up.

*Thank you modders for helping the PC folks stay in nice jammies, and thanks so much for the Mosaic fix.

Natashina: regarding the walk toggle, it breaks if you fixed the cutscenes.  Check your commandline and see if you made that fix earlier and forgot about it.  Apparently, the only method (passed on by Bioware folks and condoned) to get cutscenes to play over 30 FPS was with a commandline switch.  Inexplicably, when Bioware included the "walk toggle" as the major PC control improvement, it breaks if you're using the commandline switch to unlock your cutscenes above 30 FPS... you know, if you want your "by PC for PC" game to actually run at rates PC hardware easily support.

I wish I was making all of that up.

yep, I've had very similar audio issues, although that seems to be a rare occurrence . I haven't seen many complain about that besides myself.

Ah, okay.  It's much like the Fade bug.  If you use the workaround and start a new character, you'll be in a place that looks like the Fade starting area, minus the excess green fog.  The minimap will say "The Hinterlands" and you won't be able to get out unless you exit the game and remove the work around.   Once you can save (why can't we save right after creating our character in case we screw up is beyond me,) then you can exit and put back in the command line.

What a pain in the arse, and that's just for a new character.  For regular gameplay I'll take the workaround over the walk toggle.  That plus playing offline from both Origin and the DA servers, plus removing Triple Buffering via a user.cfg file, has given me some solid framerates.  It's a shame that it takes a fair amount of monkey-ing to get the game where I'd like it.  There is still some minor stuttering, but nothing I can't deal with.

I share some of your bitterness, but as I mentioned yesterday, I'm not really that upset about it anymore.  I'm also still having fun, and feel like I'm getting my money's worth.  I wish more folks were able to feel the same way, but I'm not going to belittle nor dismiss the feelings of bitterness or even some of the anger that's floating around.   :)

@Peregriuns  Hmm, thanks.  I might use some of those, but I'm starting small.  I tried to get the Inventory Increase mod to work, but no go.  The Black/White Skyhold outfit, which I had been using, is currently hidden on nexus.  My guess is the author has either stopped working on it, or is trying to get it compatible with the Mod Manger.  I might pickup the Better Vitaar mod, but I'm not playing on playing a Qunari just yet.  When it is closer to me going into Wicked Hearts, I'm using either the Black/Red or the Blue/White outfit mod (provided the latter is up to date and working with Mod Manager.)

As far as the audio oddity, I was wondering if you use an AMD video card?  I do and I'm wondering if it's related.  Since I got the new one installed two days ago, I know my drivers are up to date.

In case you're curious, the jammie mod I'm using for my lady human is this in black w/ the medium skin tone:  http://www.nexusmods...tion/mods/260/?

They have it up for elves as well in the same style.  I've also got one for the dwarven ladies downloaded as well.  It isn't installed yet.

The DAI mod manager alpha 0.44 is what you want to use and works fine with the latest patch.  I am using AMD but I don't think it has a relevance to the stuttering as I've seen Nvidia users report the same kind of stuttering. I use the Omega 14.12 drivers which are the latest for AMD.  I have noticed that if I use hdmi to hook it up to an external tv, there is less sound stuttering. Unsure why but I've confirmed it by switching back and forth.

0.46 is out, so I'm using that.  I'm also using those drivers.  Alas, I have no way of hooking up my HDMI cable to a TV from here in the office.
