I am a little confused. Patch 4 is going to release on consoles next week, but when was patch 3 released for consoles? Unless patch 4 includes patch 3, something is not right

Just to clarify for this, Patch 4 indeed includes Patch 3 on consoles. It's just a function of having faster turn around times on the PC that we were able to deploy Patch 4.  It's mostly just "book keeping" to stay in alignment with our versioning numbers with our partners (Microsoft and Sony).

Sorry for this confusion and it's a strange circumstance but it sounds like it's less our call when I poked around.

I installed the patch last night. Assuming the dupe glitch people are talking about is the selling items from valuables and buying back multiple copies - it doesn't appear to work anymore. It felt like there was less banter between the group too, but that may not be the case. I didn't notice anything majorly different, although my quest for Widris didn't work - he didn't appear

That is the glitch we've been talking about here yes. The reason I won't install the patch myself, cause it will take away all the fun I have with making armors and weapons. I have no interest in running around the areas just to harvest loot that might or might not appear when killing foes. Just thinking about it makes me not wanna play.

There are so many materials you can only use once and never get in game again, so I feel safer customizing weapons and armor, knowing there's a way to get unlimited materials, in case I screw up. I'm not the best at crafting stat-wise epic armours, so I rely on having too much material so that I can make them from scratch if I feel I failed before.

I rather have a moderately well running game with the glitch that allows awesome armor and weapon making - and makes me really giddy and excited about crafting new stuffs all the time -, than have a moderately well running game that I no longer feel the same enthusiasm for. Because after updating, I'd probably stop exploring, crafting and looting all together. If the glitch is not brought back I will not update. xD

I ask that people try to not make this a general discussion thread.  Reading past discussions over things like Duke Nukem Forever and game development time and whatnot makes the thread unnecessarily larger and slows down my ability to read and collate the actual issues.

Thank you.

I'm pretty torn on whether to update on the Xbox One.  On the other hand, my favorite class (2H warrior) has some seriously broken detonators.  I have stopped playing him because of how frustrating that has become.  On the other hand, just like Elyunha above, have enjoyed the dup glitch.  I've used it in DA:O, DA2, and now in DA:I.  It lets me explore crafting without penalty.  I also think gathering a billion ore, etc is a serious waste of my time.  The game is more enjoyable being able to use the glitch.

On top of that, I have yet to see some feedback on Xbox One users with this new patch, in relation to party banter frequency, fixed detonators, etc.  For all I know, the patch could fix the dup glitch, fail to fix the detonators, and break party banter worse.

I will not, for as long as I can, play DA:I online if the dup glitch remains gone. Elyunha said, it balanced out the impossibly tedious task of gathering materials.  And the fact that a lot of items can only be found once.

Hi!

So, there's a thing I've noticed when crafting armors, but I'm not sure if it's something that the new patch 3/4 caused or if it's been this way for a while.

Anyhoo, when crafting fx Sturdy Battlemaster Armor or Sturdy Prowler Armor, there are large parts of the armors that aren't customizable, as in, they won't change colour to reflect choice of material, etc. I can't do screengrabs on my comp unfortunately (at least not to my knowledge), but I'm not talking about like pants and undergarments, it's like the entire leather tunic/vest thing, which I think SHOULD, or is NORMALLY customizable, but now all of a sudden is just the default bland grey colour. Prowler Armor and Battlemaster Armor are the only sets I've noticed this happening to so far, dunno if there are others.

Just to illustrate my point, here's one picture I found on google of Iron Bull in armor - his poofy pants are in (I think) Royale Sea Silk, but when I try to craft with the same material in game, the pants do not change colour to reflect choice of material - And I've tried manipulating all slots.

Dunno if anyone else has experienced this or if it's already been brought up!

Right there with Elyunha.  I'm not getting this patch my auto update has already been turned off.  This also means I will be forgoing any multiplayer and future DLCs.  I can't understand why Bioware would feel the need to patch this in a single player game.  Farming for hours is already an issue with this glitch, without it this game will be downright painful.  You already have my $60, but you won't get anymore.

Allan, considering there haven't been any updates so far re the PC UI, controls etc.. Is anything still forthcoming, or should people at the PC start concluding Bioware no longer develops for the PC - in which case it's easier then having to wait, and we can just put Bioware in the black book and forget about DA:I.... We've had a couple of 'it's coming' notes, but except for patch 2, zilch happened. And it's already a few months ago.

Weird issue I had the other night on PC (Win7 Pro). Installed patches 3 and 4, ran a Repair game just to be sure and started a new game with imported world state. (Male Human 2H Warrior). Speaking to Cullen about his past outside of Haven and as soon as he talks about being from Ferelden a Codex Entry for "How to be a Fereldan" popped up on my screen and froze the conversation until I closed it. Never happened in my first play-through and I found said Codex entry in the Skyhold library in that game.

Also, I'm constantly running into issues where I can only hear one half of a conversation between two NPCs. The subtitles pop for both, but the audio for only one can be heard. (Unrelated note, who made the decision to have the very loud snippets of "conversation" be audible in crowded environment? Constantly having conversations I actually want to hear, or the bard signing, interrupted by someone saying "That's what I heard" every ten seconds. That's been present since day 1, but it's incredibly annoying and definitely doesn't add to the immersion in crowd scenes. A low "peas and asparagus" background murmur would be far preferable, IMO.)

Also on the Codex front, I've had a few pop up randomly while wandering around Haven (without me interacting with anything) but I can't remember if that happened pre-patch or not. I've also had a couple items where I clicked on something, got a "New Codex Entry" message but didn't receive a pop-up of said entry.

Lemme stop you there. You waive all consumer rights in regards to functionality when you agree to the TOS in the installer that explicitly states that they do not have to guarantee the game even works. They also give you the opportunity to receive a full refund within the first 24 hours of launching if you downloaded online. If it's a physical copy you could have brought it back to the store.

You try to bring that to court, you'll get laughed out by a judge - and that's considering you even get to one with such a weak lawsuit premise. Just because you didn't read the agreement doesn't mean you aren't bound by its terms.

As I said before - if you live in the US (not sure about the Canadian law there, I know it copies a few bits of the US law, but hopefully not the more ridicilous bits), you're screwed. You live in Eastern Asia, you're screwed. You live in Australia or NZ, abandon all hope ye that enter there.

You live in Europe (esp. Western and Northern Europe, excepting the weirdos over there in the UK), that clausule goes MIA. Hell, it's completely against the law. Only that 'bringing back' clausule still stands, and it pisses me off till no end.

As regarding the rest... I'll just wait for Allan's answer and wait and see.

Allan, can we get an update on the SLI issues that have been there since day 1? i.e. the white fog and texture flickering that pretty much requires people to disable a huge chunk of their computers to play this game? (at a much lower frame rate).

The "broken arms" for male elves is still an issue. Has stopped me and others wanting to play the game awaiting a possible fix. Is this being worked at? Thanks! :)

I've had the exact same glitches and issues. It was on my Xbox 360 and it was BEFORE the new patch 4. Have not tried with the patch.

Winter Palace broken after update. Vestibule to Grand Hall door makes you wait 2 minutes only to set you right back to which ever room you started in. It was working fine until I downloaded the update. Also while in the loading screen the clock keeps ticking, went from fasionably late to late while waiting in the loading screen. PS4

I just logged on my Xbox One and launched DA:I and was prompted to download an update, which from what I gathered is patch 3 and 4 in one update (according to the Technical Forum: http://answers.ea.co...253620#M42483).

I was able to choose "cancel" and not download the patch.

So I hit cancel and exited back to dashboard and unplugged my ether-net cable and relaunched the game to play without updating the game.

From what I have been reading on the forum here, it seems people are having a multitude of issues with this patch.

So my question is this: Just to be on the safe side, should I just wait and remain offline for now until Bioware has their patch issues fixed? I rather be able to enjoy the game as I have, then have broken quests and other issues because of this patch.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you.

PS: People are talking about some dupe-glitch on the forum, which I have no clue as to what exactly it is, nor am I interested to make use of such

glitch but I do have some questions.

I enjoy gathering materials as I adventure (one of the habits I have of playing for years WoW and farming mats for endless hours lol).

But it was mentioned that this patch fixes that dupe glitch (or whatever it is called). Does the patch alter anything as far as gathering materials

goes; such as herbs, ore, leather etc...?

Because I enjoy the gathering system as it is now before this patch, so I am merely wondering if that patch changes anything in that regard as

well as loot lists for npcs (loot that you can find on corpses).

I would not be very fond of the thought that this patch alters the gathering system for less materials to be found in the world and gathered aka

such as having reduced the amount of plants there are, how much ore spawns on mountain-sides, leather found on dead rams and so on.

I am actually quite annoyed by suddenly having to adjust to a whole new way of playing in tactical view. So far the camera changed to the selected character when changing partymember. After the patch, thats suddenly not the case.

Dear Bioware, I find changes like that quite invasive. You are not correcting bugs or adding new features.. No you are actually changing the way we need to play the game. In my case, this is for the worse, and it is quite annoying, and unacceptable that you in my eyes Think you can suddenly degrade a product that I enjoy just fine without your meddling.

You could at least have either:

1) made us choose between the 2 ways the tactical cam behaves in the settings, so us that liked it the "old" way it was could choose to keep it that way or..

2) given us a way to still change to the chosen character on the fly ingame. For instance by letting us cycle enemies by clicking one stick and partymembers by clicking the other stick. That would have worked fine.

I hope I am overlooking something here.. And I hope for an official reply.

I will not be installing this patch.  I got better things to do than run around for mega hours collecting metal for armor.  Of all the things wrong with the game removing a glitch that was optional and affected single player is a slap in the face.   So no more dlc or multiplayer for me.

The duplication glitch, aka Dupe-glitch is a glitch where you can duplicate crafting materials by selling and buying back valuables, with any vendor out there in the world. Basically you press the Y and A button(sorry I'm on xbox, I suppose its triangle and X for playstation, no idea what for PC) at the same time, by slightly pushing the Y button before the A button so that you "sell all" at the same time as you "sell one" object in the valuables menu. This way it will sell double the amount of materials you've put into the valuables category and thus you buy back double the amount. You can do this as many times as you want, and reach riddiculous numbers of materials if you so wish. This helps alot if you're anything like me and easily fail at armour customization. This way I can make sure I never run out of Essence of Perfection and Dragon materials etc. :3 It does not affect the amount of materials found while exploring. Hope this helped!

From what I heard the patch #3 didn't really fix any major problems and only removed the glitches that benefited players (item duping and infinite influence).  The most attractive thing about the patch was that banter was supposed to happen more often but many here said they did not notice an increase.  The original patch 3 for PC made crafted shields have zero defense.

Patch 3 basically 1) didn't really fix anything, 2) took away from benefical glitches and 3) broke crafted shields.  Patch 4 is basically BW fixing what patch 3 broke.
