I actually wouldn't be surprised. No one in this game seems to truly die, and if Leliana dies in Origins and you question her about it in Inquisition... She herself doesn't have an explanation, so she's either immortal or Bioware couldn't come up with an answer.
I always love how one singular occurrence somehow becomes "no one seems to truly die".
Leliana doesn't have an explanation because she doesn't know why she's alive. That is kind of the case when one doesn't know why something happened, is they tend not to have concrete explanations for it. She hypothesis she does mention, however, fits in-universe.
