 I have found it hard to find much of any mention of the fact that through party banter (Cassandra: Leliana and Josephine are “friends”) and a conversation with Leliana herself where she heavily implies that she had been slutting around with Josophine  AFTER the events of DAO where my imported Warden romanced her. She even has the nerve to say that the while the warden is away he is still in her heart and they will be together again soon. So it's not like she's moved on with her life. No, she's just been having drunken scissor fights with Josephine to pass the time and maker knows what else with whoever else.  Total “WTF you dirty slattern!” moment for me. I mean I  hear even manwhore Zevran was able to keep it in his pants in DA2. when propositioned by Isabella if he was romanced in DAO. For shame Leliana! This cobbled with her decidedly darker personality (hardened or not) totally ruined her character for me.  I mean unless I missed something and this was just an oversight/bug I don't know what the heck they were thinking with this.

No. Leliana's writer, and Josephine during her romance, have both confirmed there was never anything between them at any point. You heard wrong.

 

In fact, they consider each other sisters.

I gets it's just me reading into things then when Leliana says things she left a ball with "Josie" to find a "real party". When the "Harold" asks what she means by "real party" she goes on to say something along the lines of it not being a real party into someone is pinned against a pillar in their "small clothes" and that's "all she's going to say about it". I guess they just went off to have a pillow fight or something and it's just my dirty mind.....  Still it's strange that Cassandra would refer to Leliana and Josephine as " *clears throat* "friends"

She said 'It's not a real party until someone's smallclothes are pinned to a Chantry board.' As said above, it's not supposed to be much more than a Leliana's Song DLC reference, where they scandalized some Bann by pinning his underthings to a Chanter's Board.

...except Josephine says the exact same thing in-game. She implicitly says she considers her to be her big sister, and is actually offended by the very notion.

You really think after Jacob in ME3, a character nobody cared about, cheated and caused an uproar, they'd try to do the exact same thing with a character people actually like? BioWare's many things but not suicidal quite yet.

Well I haven't actually romanced Josephine but the fact that something like that would have to be explained away/denied by Josephine is telling itself. It's not as if she couldn't be downplaying their casual fwb relationship for the Inquisitor's benefit.  Either way I think some dialogue may very well have accidentally left in if the final intention was to was supposedly for  Josephine and Leliana to be purely "sisterly" in their dealings with each other.

Sorry but I just don't find any of the explanations to be sufficient enough to explain away the heavily suggestive in game comments regarding Leliana and Josephine's relationship. Sure the writer who wrote the character/dialogue can say whatever after the fact but it just sounds like a last minute cop out to me but sure  we have to accept it anyway. I guess Cassandra was just way off too because she clearly seemed to think something was up between them.
