*NORDIC LITERATURE ALERT*
Please, refrain from reading further if you tried but didn't like the classics of Nordic literature. It's somewhat specific in term of narrative and surely wasn't designed to be relaxing, it's more of the history thing.

Well, got some free time here folks, so I've decided to lean a little back and bring you here a little reinvented classics. One who finds first the original saga used as a reference gets a little yet entertaining RPG surprize from me. So...

The Patch For A Patch For A Patch Saga

Chapter I - Dragon Age Inquisition Origins

Spoiler

Attention! This little project of mine is under work. Please, check back later to see what was the Dragon Age: Inquisition childhood back at home, in the middle of nowhere under the hands of his daring parent DA2.

You know what better fits the relationship between Origins and his grandson Inquisition? This codex:

King Origins the Magnificent saw one hundred and twenty-seven summers before he finally left for eternal slumber beneath our great kingdom. Even on that last day, the king sparred with his grandson, Inquisition the Mellow, and bested him. King Origins showed no signs of weakness or decrepitude in his advanced age, and proved more than a match for the much younger man. Origins met every blow Inquisition delivered, and returned each with twice the vigor.

In the end, the great king threw his grandson to the ground, and with one stroke of his sword, sheared the beard clean off Inquisition's chin. "You are a Dragon Age," the king said. "Have some care for your content."

Chastised, Inquisition sent for his attendants, and bade them to bathe and groom him. Thereafter, his chin was always shaved obsessively close to the skin.

As for the king, he retired to his chambers for his afternoon nap. When it came time for supper, the servants were unable to rouse him. And that is how King Origins the Magnificent, sixty years the supreme lord of Thedas, finally set aside his crown.

Good start I'll refrain from comments as MP has tainted my good nature w/ another Crashing weekend.

Could add the slant that little siblings just can't get along -touching the politics.

This is awesome... and even more impressive since I believe C0uncil0rTev0s isn't a native English speaker.

I'm not. Sadly :/

English is awesome, a pure joy to speak and write in.

If english is not your native language then you surely must love it to be able to write such a captivating story.

Beowulf and other Nordic sagas' style of writing for DAI? Isn't the game boring enough on its own? ;) Great post and thread.

Did you read Michael Crichton's take on this style of writing mixed with Islam view of 'russian vikings' (later to become the Rus people)?

Can't remember the name of the book. Hollywood made a movie of it: "13 warriors" or something.

The 13th Warrior? Love the movie! Was that a Crichton book first? I'll have to hunt that out now...

...and I did lol! Eaters of the Dead and OMG! I am forced to buy an actual book and wait for the post since it isn't on kindle lol!

Lol! Especially the aiming bit... :)

Seriously though, thanks for the tip, I have a few Crichton books and I love his stories but had no idea he was behind 13th Warrior, which is honestly one of my favourite movies. I'm super buzzed about this book now, not as buzzed as I might have been if it had been on kindle and delivered immediately, since I'd be reading it but still... buzzed.
