I'm glad that at least you were not subjected to the horrible deflation of breasts, my love.  ;)

Me too... desire demons have by far the best set of t*ts in a video game.

I miss them so much. :crying:

TLDR: The game has been sanitized to make it more palatable to the lowest common denominator.

Yes. Fun games. Nice complex system, lots of customization. Full freedom over your own character. Linear story, though.

Looked into it. Big tiddies in my face...

Looks interesting, however... MMORPG. Let's just say I have commitment issues.

No they are single player games. There is an mmo too, but that is trash. Drakensang is the first one, the second one is Drakensang: The River of Time. Both are on Steam, I believe. The new Blackguards games uses the same gameworld, by the way. One of the companions in Drakensang 1 is a companion in Blackguards.

My bad. Got linked to the MMO when I googled...

How old are these games?

The whole complaint on the lack of breasts in the game, using Morrigan as an example, is a tad undermined by the fact that neither Cassandra, Sera or female Inquisitor are flat-chested in their nude scenes.

Hmm... yes.

*Thinks back to Sera romance scene*

Rawgrim is right! The Drakensang games are fantastic. 1&2, "Drakansang" and "Drakensang - The River of Time" are both awesome.
I played them to death! If you like really nerdy stuff and a wonderful atmosphere and anything about old school RPG's they are a joy to play.
I love them!

(And, yes, the Online-game is nonsense. It has nothing to do with the first two games. The developer "Radon Labs" filed for bankruptcy and got bought by "Bigpoint Berlin" or something ... and now they make this online crap ... Useless!)

*jumps out again*

I recommend the Drakensang series. You can get a physical copy at Amazon.com for $14.79

http://www.amazon.co...ords=drakensang

You can also get the even earlier games based on the Dark eye called Realms of Arkania on GOG.com

http://www.gog.com/g..._of_arkania_1_2

http://www.gog.com/g...ms_of_arkania_3

The games are fun. Very old school.

There is also a remake of Realms of Arkania: Blades of Destiny on Steam:

http://store.steampo...com/app/237550/

I have not played the remake. So I have no opinion on it.

I can see one group of people falling for this follow the leader bull, but the leader of every major power in the game? all at once? Convenient plot twist is convenient.

Uninspired. They could have gotten away with one of those factions being manipulated by a villain but all of them was stretching credulity, I agree. I realize the writers needed to build up the Inquisition and present them as a significant force, but doing so at the expense of every other faction doesn't strike me as a wise choice if we're ever meant to take those organizations seriously again. The only previously established faction in this game to come off as being remotely effective were (of all things) the friggin' Friends of Red Jenny.

Where the story really stumbled and fell for me was right at the end of Here Lies the Abyss. I admittedly paused for a full minute on the choice to sacrifice either Hawke or Stroud. Not because I was agonizing over who to leave behind but because I was trying to figure out why I was supposed to care about either of them. I never played Dragon Age 2 but the story just seemed to assume I did.

But if you haven't played DA2 and therefore have no strong connection to Hawke by virtue of having RPlayed him, then I can assure you that Hawke is just about the dullest character in this game. He just wasn't designed to be an interesting supporting cast member. He stands around the margins of a quest as a temporary tagalong and says the sort of things you might expect Superman to say but doesn't actually do anything of any particular significance. He's just a walking codex entry, whose function is to deliver expository dialogue. Sometimes he waves his staff around.

Anyway, it's clearly a scene that wants to be important, but it's borrowed importance. If you give a crap about either Hawke or Stroud, it's not likely because of anything they said or did in this game.

This could have been an absolutely classic scene if you were forced to give up one of your immediate companions (imagine leaving Sera in the Fade), but alas it was the choice between two dull bit players.

Don't worry thats how Hawke is in DA2 so he/she is totally in character there.

For the trolls: breasts actually increase in size when a woman gets pregnant, due to the mammary glands going into full production mode. They don't reduce in size. And sagging? Morrigan is 10 years older, probably going from 18-21 years old in DA:O to 28-31 years old in DA:I. If women started to sag at that age, this would be a sad world indeed.

On a side note about morrigan being timid, I was just referring to the tone of her voice and her demeanor being so much more timid than her words, which remain as she was in DA: O, very much using prose that can be considered slightly condescending. It's an unnatural combination of what is being said and how it is said. I would argue that if a person went through some of the things she went through, there would be a completely different personality to her voice, and she would use very different prose, explaining things with a greater sense of urgency, etc. A good example of the type of voice I would expect would be something a kin to Obi-wan telling Luke about Darth Vader the first time on Dagobah. Look up the scene if you haven't seen it. It's one of the better expositions I can think of, as far as his defeated tones when arguing against Luke's decisions.

That or I would expect her to remain somewhat more the same in tone and attitude as DA:O.

but yeah, it's not about whether you see ****** at some point in the game, it's the overall portrayal of females in the game being somewhat.... lacking. The changes to females in general can be summed up by looking at the changes to morrigan's character imo, and that is why I focus in on that particular aspect of this topic. It's like it's alright to be openly sexual if, and only if, you are male.

Dude, I get your point.

But if you "head-canon" you can just pretend that she used magic to alter her breasts.

And as for the last part of the post... that way of thinking went out of the window years ago. If you observe say, Sera, for instance, she is very openly sexual... the difference being, she doesn't act like a ****** about it. (Not saying Morrigan is)

With Cass and Josie I suppose it just doesn't really suit their personalities to be like that... Cass being religious and Josie being a pollie.

LMAO.

Love how a serious "review" thread becomes a discussion about deflated breasts.

There was a "serious" review? Where?
