I don't think the rebellion was as important to her as the actual people in her care.

The tranguil would strongly disagree.... if they were alive that is.

I think she mostly believed she made the best decisions available. She fought for mage freedom because it was the best thing for the mages (in her eyes) and when her people were seriously threatened she tried her best to save them by making a deal with Alexius. I don't think the rebellion was as important to her as the actual people in her care.

Hope you are joking here, Fiona clearly placed the rebellion ahead of the people in her care. She accepted a deal that put them into slavery just so the rebellion wasn't wholly unsuccessful (as in the mages going back to the circles.) Let's not forget the other people in her care, the tranquil. Both she and the other mages just stood by as they were butchered by the Venatori, but hey, they're helping the rebellion stay alive so let em do whay they gotta do.

When she said she'd do it all again, I could almost see her terrible thought process. Something like "I mean sure, they're not free, but at least it isn't the circle right? If you think about it like that, we still kinda won."

She doesn't regret the rebellion because doing so would vindicate the templars' abuses. Nothing would have changed if the mages just rolled over and took it. Justinia knew it, Rhys knew it. Sure we can sneer at her attempts to change the way mages are ostrasized by society because we are in a position to as we have no dog in their fight. But if we were mages, I bet no one woulld display the same pretentious bravado when persecution was just a part of life. Its easier to criticize those who fight for change then oneself for passively accepting it.

Alas, circumstances beyond her control conspired against her. Including the Inquisitor. The Divine conclave had a good shot of establishing peace but the Inquisitor picked up the orb of destruction and killed everyone. Ironically, the player had a hand in putting the mages in their terrible position though I'm sure no one will want to take accountablity for it. The bsn seems to only want to sit in judgement over anyone but themselves.

By picking up the orb, the inquisitor caused the breach and the massive explosion that killed everyone in the conclave.

You do realize that explosion would have happened regardless. It is part of the reason Solas let the orb fall into Cory's possession. Solas didn't know Cory's plan to use the orb to make the anchor and possibly surving the blast or his ability to move to any blighted creature. He thought the explosion would kill cory, and then he could waltz in and pick up the orb.

Huh? The moment  Corypheus decided to sacrifice the Divine all talks were forfeit, orb or no orb. The only thing that made the talks possible was the Divine. Inquisitor didn't killed the Divine.

Just like to drop this in here; I never disliked Fiona. In The Calling, I found her romance with Maric weird for some reason (then again, I just feel eternally bad for poor Rowan). I understand her position in DA:I fairly well.

I played the Templar arc for my second playthrough, and not only do I think it's dramaturgically way better executed (including the introduction of Cole), I felt incredibly sad when I had to kill her during the Venatori attack on Haven.

So we are able to judge fiona for knowing better but the inquisitor is exempt from the same rules?

It made mages the most likely suspect of her murder making them anathema. Who else does the muggles blame all the bad weird magical **** happening in the world? Not to mention those who came to conclave were those who were trying to put hatred aside and work out peace, she brought them together, but peace could have resulted on acceptable terms on those that gathered there.

That picking up the orb would kill the entire conclave.

They would have been killed REGARDLESS of the inquisitor's actions. The explosion would have happened anyway. All the inquisitor did was stop Cory from getting the anchor himself. Solas fully expects a huge blast. He waiting for it near by so he can recover the orb after everyone should have been dead.

Why on earth would s/he know better? Nobody but Solas and Corypheus knew what the orb was.

Fiona thought Templars were responsible. Nobody would sit and talk without the Divine, she made it possible and she was the  only one capable to see it through.

Not necessary. The inquisitor turned on the orb by accident, like a child playing with a gun who knows if whatever they did would have resulted in that massive explosion. We can only assume.

Fiona never said such a thing and divine made sitting them down possible, peace could have been achieved if the templars and mages talked it out among themselves put their hatred aside and got to the bottom of things. It's funny how people always look for some savior to save them from their own stupidity, as if people lack the sense to put hatred aside themselves.

How would fiona know that alexius was a venatori agent? If we go by the bsn's advice...I believe your phrase was "not be stupid".

Literally nobody said she should have. Honestly I think you're arguing with yourself at this point.

The orb was already activated when the Inquisitor picked it up.

And while we are on that topic - the DIVINE knocked it out off Corpy's hand, which went rolling toward the Inquisitor - who picked it up. So really - Solas is to blame for giving the orb to Corphy, who is to blame for activating the Orb, where the Divine is to blame for knocking it out of his hand and sending to the Inquisitor - who is blame for picking it up.

Plus the Divine was alive as she was there in the Fade with the Inquisitor but was yanked back by the Nightmare demon which resulted in her death and the Inquisitor escaping.

Fiona never said such a thing .

She did, when you met her at VR, she says "it disgusts me that Templars will get away with it" and when you ask her if she believes that Templars are responsible she says "yes I think he (Lucious) did it"

How would fiona know that alexius was a venatori agent? If we go by the bsn's advice...I believe your phrase was "not be stupid".

Nobody is saying this, I'm sure I'm not saying this.

Even if the Tevinter offer had been in good faith, it wasn't very good. 10 years of practical slavery, and that's before Alexius's goes and alters the deal. The Tevinter are well known for blood sacrifices and the like. Fiona knows this, even in the base deal. The Inquisitor has no idea what the orb will do when he/she picks it up.

Depends on the master really. Dorian would say you think that way because you are applying the sort of villanous cliches everyone expects out of tevinter. Sure it wouldn't be pleasant, it would be work ranging from cooking to cleaning or even helping alexius research. But the rebel mages are apostates that are wanted dead or tranquil so the alternative is unsavory. But if Alexius wasn't part of the venatori and wasn't cruel out of desperation, Dorian describes him a decent man. Tevinter prohibits sacrifices technically and Alexius might be a magister of honor if you can believe it.
