Not for me. I don't like killing people who aren't trying to kill me.

Well that's why it should've been an OPTION and not forced. It would have been one for me because I like killing utter fools (In real life I wouldn't have the stomach to kill the worst serial killer, but it's a video game, so why the hell not) who not only betray the trusts of their subordinates, but also enslaves them because of their own stupidity.

Well, obviously, because she doesn't want you to make the same mistake she did. Her heart is in the right place.

Fair point.  And for what it is worth, I don't want her executed for her choice.  As I've said, I'm not really keen on punishing her for making a mistake under extreme circumstances.  At this point, I just think it best that my Inky not talk to her anymore. ;)

Maker's balls, she friggin' did it again! This time over my judgement of Alexius. Shut your damned mouth, Grand Enchanter... This is what I get for allying with her again.

I really doubt your Inquisitor didn't lie to Celene to make her go back to Briala and implicated Gaspard.

Can you not reunite them and STILL spare Gaspard ? I have't finished the quest that way, nor do I intend to, unless I am playing as anti-Orlais, because let's be honest that relationship is doomed to fail.

Poor guy, perhaps next time, he will think twice before inviting strangers whose motivations and goals he does not know, to important negotiations as his chief guest. Well, no next time for him.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to save both of them. But I didn't lie.

Admittedly, I'm tempted to let Celene die and then have Briala be Gaspard's puppet.

You don't have to lie to get any one them killed, they are all rotten to the core, and kinda had it coming.

That'll still be more stable government than Celene/Briala.

Seriously worst outcome for Orlais without a doubt is Celene/Briala/Gaspard they'll keep fighting till the entire Empire is destroyed and they become the King/queen of dust.

You said Briala helped you, even used the false documents to incriminate Gaspard.

There is no problem to do that, I only think its funny to Xil say she never would kill someone who didnt tried to kill her first.

This is the best.
While Gaspard plot against Celene and Briala command a elven revolt, they cant touch Celene because of the Inquisition. The Inquisitor still have the blackmail material against them, if they do something you dont like they will die, and while they keep Celene in check, she will bow to the Inquisitor to have protection. In the end, the Inquisition is the real power behind the throne (like Gaspard/Briala ending).

I meant for Orlais, it will ruled by people who are plotting against each other, so they don't have time to actually run the country.

But look at the bright side, your Inquisition will be stronger and you will be the true ruler of Orlais.

Aren't you able to order them not to using the blackmail material? Wasn't that basically the point?

The Epilogue suggests that Gaspard got smarter and is now leading a shadow war against Celene instead of a full blown rebellion, and Briala is still using her elves to cause random nuisance.

Gaspard will start plot against Celene and Briala leads a elven rebellion, even if you use the blackmail. But they cant make a move against Celene because you have the blackmail.

Well, I'll have to weigh that when I'm making my decisions, in the probably inevitable event I one day get a computer that this game doesn't laugh at.

If you want Orlais secure and prosperous, don't use blackmail material, every other ending is preferable to this one.

My personal best was , Make Gaspard sole ruler, arrange peace talks with Fereldan (War table operation), he ends up settling his disputes with out favorite dog loving country and fortifies Tevinter border and earns many victories.

Does Briala always start an elven rebellion?

She'd be fine with it.

I agree.  I think there's a point where she says something like she only leads the Mages because no one else had stepped up to do so.  She says that title Grand Enchanter does not mean anything anymore without the circles, but she's still called it and assumes that some day, should the Circles come back, someone else will take it.

I think you mean Gaspard be Briala's puppet, or Briala be Gaspard's puppeteer, haha.  I personally like reuniting Briala and Celene because I read The Masked Empire, so I've seen their relationship.  I do wish I could stop Gaspard from being executed in that scenario, however.

except the keep doesn't have peace with ferelden so gaspard always invades.

This irks me alot. I mean Vivienne is right there! And instead of fashionably ripping Fiona a new one, she just kind of shakes her head. Vivienne even tells you she's leading the mages who didn't want to revolt, and you would think that at the time they find out they're being sold to Tevinter, they would find the other HBIC, and play for her team, but no, they stand around and whoa is me (again) while crying about how they're rooms aren't comfy enough (Haven) or judge other leaders for making just as stupid mistakes.

And I was pretty pro mage before, but I honestly see eye to eye with Vivienne on most things now. Just hearing her describe the situation before the vote...I'm wondering how the heck Fiona was ever elected in the first place.

I believe the game tells (maybe in a Codex entry, maybe in just talking about her) you how Fiona's unique situation led her to rise through the ranks quickly and eventually becoming the First Enchanter in her Circle, then Grand Enchanter.  It may also be Asunder; I just read a couple bits of it again the other day for a different post and can't recall if I'm mixing the game and book up.  Either way, that's how; she pressed independence very hard and everyone thought she could lead them there.

To your primary point though, the Mages that Fiona leads are totally different from who Vivienne leads (few in number as the are, I believe).  This means that the rebel Mages would rather put up with Fiona in charge than deal with Viv trying to put them back in Circles, at least that's how I see it.  The rebel Mages would rather continue to rebel than rejoin the Chantry in Circles until they're forced, and by extension I suppose that they'd rather join Tevinter too.  Just because some of the Mages we speak to are against it does not mean the entirety of the rebellion is.  I wish there was a Codex entry that clarified how many were in favor of it; given it was a very short time between us arriving and the decision being made.

The easiest way to do that would probably be to pretend to sell yourself to the devil so that he can throw back the Templars if they get there first, and when Ferelden's army gets there to send somebody (probably Connor) to explain that Fiona is loyal to Ferelden's alliance agreement and now inside Redcliffe's walls. Of course, even if the situation is as Xilizhra describes it I don't think we have any evidence that Fiona was trying to be even that clever.

I'd put the best way to go about it would be to send Conner immediately with a message saying "Give the signal and we willl open the gates for you." Conner wanting to find his father is plausible so no one would question it.

Okay, yeah, immediately is probably the smartest bet.

Why I hate Fiona? where to start.

1º) She is a selfish idiot.

2º) She tries to kill the Inquisitor and set fire to the world if you don´t side with the mages(Barris, the templar counterpart, dies fighting like a lion against the red templars)

3º) We cannot judge her for treason, while she derserve it, she is not better than knight captain Denam.

4º) After you defeat Corifeus, she creates new problems...................................

I can continue, but it will take me hours :D
