In my previous playthrough (Hard level, DW Rogue) I never used Cole. The AI for melee DPS in DAI is awful! They don't understand that...well...if you have a big guy swinging a huge axe, the safest place to attack it is from behind. Even Iron Bull was eating dust too frequently as huge as he is was. In the fight with the Envy Demon (Templar quest) Cole died at the first hit and was sleeping peacefully the whole fight! So my team was Cassandra as Tank (most of the game her gear allowed her health to cap when out of combat), Varric as crowd control, Solas as support/barriers/dps/rezzes and my DW rogue mincing things.

This time around (Nightmare) I am playing an archer, my team is quite bizarre but oddly works like a charm. I have Blackwall as Tank, picking the hard hitters, Cass as offtank picking the weaker ones, Vivienne (so far with spirit tree, but once she gets the Knight Enchanter tree, she will be using it, they seem to have a lot of survivavility) and my guy as far as possible from the whole action.

My "secret" (if any) to finish the Insanity PT in ME3 as infiltrator was pretty much the same, my team role was to act as "bait" to keep the mobs away from me while I was tearing them down with the sniper rifle at a safe distance.

On Cole: set Parry, Evade and Stealth to preferred and turn off his dagger and Assassin abilities in the tactics menu.
Also, focus on raising his Crit Chance and Dexterity as well as giving him a Heal On Kill ring and a Crit Damage ring (or Ring Of Slicing from the Black Emporium).

Against mobs he becomes a murder machine but needs some babysitting against bigger enemies and if you want to set up combos with Knockout Bomb or Hidden Blades or use Mark of Death.

I constantly swap up who gets to be in my party, just to change things up and keep it interesting.

The banter between Blackwall and Vivienne is so much win! I believed that Varric/Cassandra was good, but Blackwall Vivienne is awesome. For some odd reason Blackwall is all polite and apologetic with Vivienne, and she is so bitchy in her answers to him, my Inquisitor feels compelled to intervene defending Blackwall, even when I (the player) is sneering...hehe.

 

haha yeah, i do like how the banters show who gets along and who doesn't , and the pairings which change their minds as the game progresses. I like Viv's comments to a romanced Blackwall and he points out that it's only jealousy because Inqy can love freely while she can't.

ETA: yes I use compatibility mode. I think i'm getting it closer to starting up haha

Okay, after 1000+ pages of seeing multiple people use it, can someone explain to  the stupid 'Muriken what "ETA" means?  Because "estimated time of arrival" just does not make any sense.  Is that what some countries do in place of "P.S." (post script... stuff added as an afterthought?)

 I did kill it, and I still have no idea what I did.  I figured that the Godling (Johnny) was telling the truth when he said the Crones cared in their own way about Velen, and that's all I had to go on.  I wasn't exactly happy with the outcome - but I refuse to change my decision - I want to see what the consequences will be.  I also sent the Baron off with his wife to a healer, what a bastard that Sargent is, I so hope Geralt gets the chance to kick his ass further down the line.

 

I'm a gaming hermit atm.  Hardly scratched the surface of TW3 and still got JoH to look forward to.  I actually popped into DQ for my mind-bleaching kit - the Crones *shudders*.

 

(hunting and pecking on 3DS so apols for late replies).

If you kill it, Baron will end up hanging himself. So, even though he has left to find a healer, he can at least come back and sort things out. Honestly, I think he is a pretty decent guy. His men are just a*sholes. Only problem with that is the kids are probably dead. Moral dilemmas...

I know that feeling. Even though Skellige is my favourite of the 2 (technically 3) main areas, I have barely explored it. I've started again (I completed it) on easy but that is just... really easy. No challenge there so I've bumped it up again to normal. I can just sit back and play at my own pace now.
