I adore Sera now, but I used to really dislike her because I had trouble understanding her. Even with subtitles I didn't comprehend a majority of our conversations.
Talking to Sera is like talking to my neighbours, my friends and the people I work with. Well, the accent anyway! The actual mode of talking, if you will, not so much... but so much adorb!

I did notice that she approves of some of the more harsh dialogue options. Like telling Stroud that the wardens went too far and threatening that Tevinter Magister jerk (forget his name).

I could never actually be mean to her (or any of the companions), It would break my heart. I can't really be mean to my companions in game because I am just too nice. The only one I wanted to hate me was Solas because I was mad at him for being a jerk to my Quizzy and even then, I still couldn't get his disapproval dialogue to trigger.
I did get Viv's disapproval dialogue without even trying though...
From what I've seen with sera she also takes disapproval hits if you do dalish stuff or anything 'elfy'. But I think what really gets people is right after the solasmance breakup and when you go talk to her about it, she laughs about the dalish vallaslin. And the well of sorrows stuff. Eh shrugs

I know that some people are turned off because of her brashness and juvenile sense of humor, and those who are very pro Dalish have all the reason in the world to clash with her, but it has always seemed to me that she gets a highly disproportionate amount of hate compared to other companions. *raises tankard* To you Sera!
I don't get the hate either. Sera is a gift and we should all love and cherish her. Lol.
