And this is why I didn't feel anything but annoyed when Thane died.
Three healthy people with guns stand by and watch the dying guy fight (and lose to, seriously Thane you have a damn gun. Stand back and shoot his ass!) an idiot with a sword.
To be fair, the situation begun and ended rather quickly and Thane and the cereal killer were pretty tangled up. Getting involved in hand-to-hand would have had a good chance of mucking up Thanes combat flow and getting a shot in without one of them disengaging would have been difficult. Same for Thanes gun. Too close for it to be useful and the cereal killer kept pressing, making disengaging difficult.
Of course ultimately the scene was constructed around the 'rule of cool' and logic takes a back seat ![]()
