Downloaded TESO (The Elder Scrolls Online) again, maybe will give it a second chance, now that is free and it seems that made the non-mage Nightblade viable (when I left the only viable way to play Nightblade was using cloth armor and a staff, *sighs*)

Anyway, this was my guy, Hakeem Al'Saimi (gonna create one from scratch, I completely forgot how to play :P)

-snip-

My brothers name is Hakeem...

Not sure I have seen yours.

I am obssessive at listing things sometimes, its a character flaw...but I am curious do people have favorite and least favorite of their RP protags they create or is it like 'choosing between your children'.

I always have a favourite and least favourite. Like my HoF : Talia - human lady mage = favourite. city elf warrior who i can't remember the name of = least favourite.

Hawkes: Sparrow Hawke, least favourite.. she was an aggressive piece of work. Ashe Hawke - favourite, sarcastic, mage gal, tried to help people whenever she could

Inquisitors: Kyrrah - favourite, for all the reasons. least favourite would be my dwarf, Malika.

Chantara Shepard is my only ME character, and likely be my favourite, we'll see. Speaking of which, pics:

Did you just describe her as fatter faced? It's on boy... *cracks knuckles*

But yeah, I made her look young, a habit of mine. Try and make characters look around my age lol.

lol.

I make my characters younger looking for role play reasons.  I try and give my characters story arcs and character development arcs both inherent in the game, and those that are not.  That said my two oldest characters were probably Mal Cousland and Ben Trevelyan.  And of course the Shepard(s), but their age is already given.

Kara is probably early 20s.

Ben is late 20s-early 30s.

Mal could be into his forties actually.  But more like early 30s.

Aeryn early 20s.

Anyways.

Abigail Shepard

Aeryn Hawke

Ben Trevelyan

Kara Trevelyan

Malcome Cousland

Cameron Shepard

Michael Shepard

Tori Shepard

Alex Hawke

Ariane Lavellan.

As an Infiltrator (an oddly, the EXACTLY same strategy is working for me in my current Nightmare PT as a Bowman) what I did was using my companions as bait. [...] In DAI I'm running with two tanks (Blackwall and Cassandra) and Dorian as CC, they keep the mobs away from me while I snipe them from the distance, works like a charm.

I used to have a sniper rifle and a sawed-off shotgun (e.g. Claymore) as an Infiltrator, as well as Adhesive Grenades. In DAI I used the Griffon Bow with Hook & Tackle, Spike Trap, Leaping Shot & Throwing Blades, in that order.

I like using extreme ranged and extreme close-quarter weapons, it's fun cause it's so busy. Just staying outside the heat and fire away with a SR/bow is fun for a while and good to have as an option, but it's the mix that makes it for me.

BioWare supports that playstyle, too, evidently by the ME3 Drell Infilitrator & DA Hunter multiplayer characters - which are obviously my favourites. Long range, mines & bonus abilities for when in close quarters.

In all my years of BioWare games, I have never tried playing a full on caster, whether it's Biotics or Magic. I've just always been a rogue for all my RPG career, and it ain't gonna change as long as devs come up with more fun abilities...

Yeah I know.  That is why I think all RPGs, if you like them enough, require a minimum of 2 playthroughs.  Because you are still trying to figure things out in the first one throughout ost of it.  Hell in Origins it took me most of 3 playthroughs to figure out some of the gameplay quirks.  So I put in a fourth one.  Which reminds me I forgot to add Cassandra Cousland up there...I think that was her name...no it wasn't I am trying tot hink of my mage...crap.

Anyways...the big flaw in DA is without imports, not necessarilly new games + and without face codes it really inhibits the replay value for me.  Unless I do decide to make good on my pictures and recreate my character.  Or try to.  I'm the kind of guy who likes playing the game characters over and over and over again, with various variations.

MEs biggest flaw is no sarcasm button.  Shepard barely had a sense of humor.  Though one of the reasons I like Abby so much is because of headcannon and my writings...I gave her one.  Quite a devillish one if I do say so myself.

*restarts game* at least I'm not going in completely blind this time around until I reach where I was up to. The modifying weapons and slightly simplified combat took a bit of getting used to.

My first crack at Cameron was an adept.   ....it did not go well.

I like keeping things at a distance, usually...though in ME that evolved for my two main Shepards into mid range-close range combat.  Abby with her Valk/ Valiant combo, Cameron (Vanguard/ Sentinel) with his Revenant/ Carniferex combo.

It will suprise you that I have ONE, whose name is Kelevra Shepard, who's a loveable grumpy middle aged guy, Infiltrator, and about 329832782617 playthroughs under his belt.

With the same skills, almost the same general decisions, same LI (variantions only in celibacy, once).

Well again Shepard is the only BioWare protag (that I know) with a fixed age.  32.  Which actually quite works well.  Young enough to still have an arc, but old enough to have earned her position.  Though...lol.  I love BioWare I love ME I love DA but I would have done a lot of the story things completly differently if I were writing it.  I think Anderson should have stayed in charge of the Normandy during most of ME 1 and then he would have given it to her at the end to sacrifice himself as she saved the galaxy.

The other rather delightful discovery I made for my Shepard, Abigail, was when I gave her the Talon pistol.  She could cover all three ranges, long, medium, and short, and was just pure bad arse...gah all this ME talk really wants to make me play the games I get but I doubt I will unless they release a remastered trilogy.  :( I'd get it so hard for my PS4.

How is the combat simplified? I find it the best out of the three games...

Then again I didn't enjoy ME2's at all; because of the terrible agility, camera angle & companions being brain dead skill dispensers. So anything different from that would win my heart.

That avatar though.. I crack up laughing every time I see it.

I definitely favorite some above others. With Mass Effect, all my Shepards are equal because I have no canon and they all pick the same choices. DAO and DAI on the other hand, I have Wardens/Inquisitors that are more favorite than others and I forget about the rest. Da2 all Hawkes are equal because it's just Hawke. Although, I did give one of them these awesome chops and named him Chops McDee. *drink*

It's a shame you're a Playstatian. Or it's a shame I'm Xboxish. I really don't know at this point.

But I will know if Dark Souls 3 actually becomes a Sony exclusive...

hey now! when does simpler mean bad? It so does not, I prefer ME3's combat to ME2 but it took some getting used to at first. I did go straight from finishing ME2 to starting ME3. And yes, it feels a lot simpler then the previous games, I'm hitting less buttons, not always a bad thing and I can actually rely on my companions to hit something for once... most of the time..
