I still haven't tried any of the Witcher games. I think I may have tried a demo of the first one but it was a long time ago. Are they really that good?
Depends really.. I love them. But if you place social/political importance in games, I would suggest staying clear of the first two since they are known to cater to the straight Male, objectifying women etc.
You could always start with TW3, they seem to have welcomed females a bit more..
There is a lot of gore and dark themes so if you don't like those sorts of things I would suggest staying clear.but this game is very open world, like Skyrim.. But better because there is a good story and the side quests and cut scenes are compelling.
Meh I just think if you like game of thrones you should like the Witcher...they are both very similar in tone.

Come on Al you have seen the Mileychicken I've posted it a million times.
Lucky I'm on mobile though.. Cause I can't Gif when I'm using my phone.
Yeah.. Game of Thrones is very similar to Witcher when it comes to dark fantasy themes, but Game of Thrones is more realistic -- no monsters save for Dany's dragons.. Oh and those ice walker things.
And giants.
And harpies apparently...Krackens...a few other things.

According to several reviewers and CDPR themselves, it is supposedly the best place to start for newcomers. Though, to get the full understanding of who some people are, you will have to read the entries you get.

If you get TW3.. I suggest, if you purchase it digitally, getting it off of Gog.com cause they usually throw in extras, perhaps a guide to explain the lore and what not.
Provided you play on Pc that is.. If you play on console you may get a little handbook if you buy it on disc. I got one with my copy.
You could always buy the world of the witcher book, it explains a lot of stuff without having to play the first two games.
Is there a lot of Lore that I would need to know? Or do codex entries help fill in the gaps?
And I am a console player, so I would want to get it for Xbox One.

Umm well there aren't really codex entries other than what's written in the glossary.. But like elder scrolls there are a lot of books but I can never be ****** reading.
So yeah it may help you understand it a bit better but I don't think it's absolutely necessary to be an expert ![]()

There is a lot of lore, yes, but you can actually get a lot simply by playing the game. Some characters will briefly talk about what happened before (and it doesn't feel forced) so you can get an understanding of the situation that way. You can also read some of the entries that pop up which will also tell you a bit about stuff.
Meh still torn on the Witcher.
Are you really?
Yeah. Why? Does this bother you? ![]()
