I love strategy and city building too, with a preference to city building.
Have you played the latest Tropico? I binge played that for a while, then it became one of those "play non-stop for a week straight then get bored" kinda games.. mind you, it may have something to do with the fact that I couldn't work out how to stop power outages.
Thinking about cranking up Sim City 4 actually.. taking a break from TW3. Was playing ME2 but I lost interest.. too overplayed. But I'll definitely play again before ME:A comes out. Oh and started a South Park: Stick of Truth playthrough.. feck it's funny! You take a dump and use the nugget as a weapon for battles.
I love the Tropico games, but play them in short bursts. Tropical 5 I had to grab the moment it was released, that's just how I am
I know I personally get enough playtime done on tropico games for them to be worth it. I have both Tropico 3's (they released a 'special' edition), Tropico 4 and 5. I have Sim City umm.. Societies? Something like that. and somewhere I've got SimCity 4 unlimited. I posted my entire steam games list somewhere the other day.. ah Here.
I started ME1 again, playing a biotic this time. I'm after a couple of achievements I missed last time.

Not THAT elven mage. And I can't go anywhere without that. It's kinda tattooed on my ass.

Jeez woman looks like you have the whole store on there
and I thought I had a big collection, although.. since I discovered GOG it's getting that way ![]()
I noticed you have Kingdoms of Amalur on there.. what did you think? Just curious.
"You have to admit, the old "fake your own death, travel through time, rescue your allies" trick is a classic."

Kingdoms of Amalur remains one of my favourite games, I enjoy it every time I play it. I could go into a lot more detail but I'll spare you that hehe.

I asked cause I picked it up cheap for the PS3, and didn't really like it when I cranked it up recently
The intro was fun though. I dunno, the open world seemed lifeless, mind you I had just finished playing TW3 so sub-consciously my expectations were probably set too high.

Yeah straight after any game like Skyrim or TW3, or even DAI you've been too spoiled with graphics and world design to enjoy Kingdoms of Amalur I think, it's not of the same level as those games but I really do enjoy its combat, animations in combat and story lines, there's a lot to do and not all of it meaningless fetch quests, there's always some. I love the ability and fate systems for it. I think the KoA world is really pretty, and there's nothing like taking out ya chakrams or faeblades and smashing creatures to pieces with a charged attack. Animation and combat fun for that.
I've played a lot of top rpg games, but Kingdoms of Amalur remains one of my all-time favourites.
Edit: I know what I'm doing after this ME1 run now, thanks ![]()

Oh I thought it was pretty, don't get me wrong. Just lifeless.
Another thing that put me off was how juvenile the character designs were
I can definitely see that the game was inspired by both Skyrim and DAO, it's like a balance between the two. Maybe if I played it when it was released, I would have enjoyed it.
You enjoy games? What kind of messed up world is this? *drink*

Pffff I have cocaine and opium.

That picture reminds of me of when my siblings and I were small children and we always wanted our mom to read "Bambi" to us. She got so sick of reading that book over and over that she came up with her own version that was more cynical and twisted in nature, I guess you could say. Anyway, the part I remember the most of this new twisted version is Bambi seeing snow for the first time and asking, "What is this white stuff?" and the reply "It's cocaine. Sniff it, and you'll be warm all winter long!" My siblings and I found it absolutely hilarious. Naturally, we preferred this twisted version from then on.
