And now Wolfenstein: The New Order is down to under £9.  Anyone know how important it is to play the previous ones before it?

You don't have to play them. I do recommend you get that game though! One of my faves in recent times.

Guys there's a giant mutant mosquito in my room. I think it has invisibility powers.

 

I threw a book at it when I first saw it on the wall. When I went to pick up the book there was nothing on it, or on the wall, even tho I clearly hit.

 

Now I can't find it... at all... it literally despawned.

 

I don't feel safe in my own room. Help.

I've played most of them and definitely Wolfestein the New Order has a complete different direction storywise, it marginally touches the others (there are some "cameos") but it stands by itself against the previous ones way more than other "franchises" so to speak. The writers behind this one did the impossible creating a credible character and story considering the humble origins of the game.
