The cold isn't too bad now. I woke up at 6 am with a stuffed nose and a bad cough and couldn't get back to sleep for 2 hours. I am glad that I can have a lazy day though.

Yay! Sounds delicious. I wish I could make stuff like that. The only thing I can bake are cookies and muffins/cupcakes.

Oh it's super, super easy! Make an angel food cake (boxed tastes just fine), whip up some whipped cream, boil a simple lime syrup (seriously water+sugar+lime juice) and cut up fruit. 

 

Assemble in layers in the bowl, pouring the syrup over the cake. Cake+whipped cream + fruit = trifle!

I can cook, just can't bake to save my life. Lol. The only way things turn out well is if someone helps me so I don't mess it up.

I don't know. The recipe has existed for well over a century. Back then, times were different so there could be any number of reasons for it's name.
