I could never seem to cook kangaroo past the medium rare stage.. every time I took a bite it would bleed a little. Not that I minded. :P Aussie?

Well, they jump pretty fast so you don't often get the chance to grill them to death. :D

Yep, born and bred Aussie. Denizen of the only country to eat the animals on it coat of arms. Of course that's helped by the fact our animals are real. *side-eyes Scotland and their unicorn*

Aussies, I need some confirmation over here.

I'm watching Masterchef Australia, and I keep hearing the phrase "How you going?" Is that just a common greeting, or are my ears broken?

Yeah pretty much. Or "how's it going?"

I have a stupid question about MickyD's down under.  I know sometimes they will add menu items based on locale in other countries.  So do you have roo burgers or emu nuggets or other stuff like that?

*Beren drinks a Vic Bitter*

Sadly neither, it's mostly normal stuff.

How ya goin' , yep pretty mucha  greeting. there's a poem about it that is hilarious.

Edit: found it! it took long enough to find the words lol, "G'day" by Grahame Watt. But yeah, generally we prefer G'day as a greeting.

Yep, pretty common. I've said, "How're you going?" several times this morning. :D

See, "how's it going" makes perfect sense to me. So does "how you doing"? But they've like combined the two phrases and it confounded me, haha.

I'm very properly Canadian, and slang tends to really make me tilt my head. It took me 2 playthroughs of DA:I to even understand half of Sera's babble!

You should try playing Borderlands:The Presequel. The sheer abundance of broad Australian accents and Aussie slang in that game makes me laugh so much. I'm sure it must have bamboozled lots of people who played it along the lines of "What the hell are these people saying? It sounds like English but I can't be sure!"

Sorry, I meant proper in the sense of high-brow. I come from an area where if we incorporate any slang it's from 90s American movies.

Aussie slang isn't where it ends, it's different words for the same thing as well. Like America and Australia would call the same thing something different.

Interesting. I got the handsome collection a while ago, but wanted to play the original first. I hadn't completed it. I'm looking forward to this

I always thought.. *ducks from inevitable blow to the face* that Americans and Canadians were the same. I mean with way of talking, slang, etc!

You mean like fanny?

In America, a fanny is an arse. Here, it's a pusssy.

I find that Americans are much more recognizable than Canadians, we sort of blend into the background.

We have a few words of slang, here and there but really we're a little... bland...
