I don't know what kind of games you like or enjoy. The character creator is lacklustre *gesture to her gal in that pic* but Kingdoms of Amalur stands as one of my favourite games. It has a very pretty world and enjoyable (to me) stories, quests etc

The combat animations are awesome though, you can roll out of the way of most hostile attacks aswell so very active fights, can throw magic/spells at stuff etc and has a decent range of weapon types.

There's crafting of potions, enchantment type stuff and weapons and armour. You do get a house but there isn't really decoration customisation you just add more rooms to it, you get given it in a quest to save a town.

I love the rich stories, and quest chains, in it, teaching you about the Fae, some sort of weird "immortal" race, when they die they get reborn so never truly die or something like that, game explains it better then I do.

Faeblades (shown in my pic earlier) or chakrams (in my combat pics below) are awesome! but you can have bows, 2-handed-many things, dual daggers, staffs, wands etc

Edit: heh the guy I was fighting didn't stay visible long enough to get a shot of, he kept disappearing (going invisible by fight design).

I think your PC is absolutely gorgeous! If that's a lacklustre CC, I'm looking forward to it. <3

It sounds lots of fun. How terrible are the spiders?

I always have a lot of fun playing KoA , it has 2 DLC's and I think 40 bucks on Origin gets you everything except the weapons and armour pack which honestly isn't needed at all. It was co-published by EA, not solely published. Steam will give you everything for a bundle price of 40 bucks, so weapon/armour pack is free pretty much, price wise haha. Metacritic score of 81/100 just to show how decent it is, rated that well.

Spiders.. they're.. not too bad, I've played worse. They do pop out of the ground when you get near their spawn area but so does a lot of creatures.

And thanks on the character comment hehe, she is pretty. Not too hard to create a decent looking character on KoA, just not a ton of customisation options for it.

Kingdoms of Amalur is a really good game, I reckon you would really like it, Beren.

That thing you did there, I sees it.

...You're babbling nonsense, Ber.

Hehe, yeah I guess it was pretty nonsensical without context.  EA did a cross-game promotion ahead of the launch of ME3.  If you tried out the demo of Kingdom of Amalur - Reckoning, then you got this armor in ME3 called Reckoner-Knight (I think I had that backwards in the previous post.)  It's good melee armor.  Here is a screenshot of Joker's email about it as well as a screenshot of Boudica modeling it for you.  She isn't actually using it because if she gets in melee range, things have probably gone bits up / face down, but she tried it on so you could see it.

As far as the comment about the game developer, they went kaput not long after the game launched.

This song is currently stuck in my head and I thought I would share:

Lindsey Stirling tears my head to pieces (in a good way) with her violin badassery... is that a word? Screw it, it is now.

Googles this game.

It looks pretty, but I'm seeing a lot of complaints about the game's content. But, since I play games for funzies, that's never stopped me. Besides, I've played games from more underground studios and have had a grand ole time.

Not bad, definitely. I could likely afford it... Hrm...

Are they scary like DA:O, or not really scary like Rachni/DA:I spiders?

Yeah not huge amount of content but the world isn't empty. And the gameplay and quests make up for that by heaps. I like what's in it, even without dlc's added, and never thought it was lacking something. There's no holes I came across, like in DAI where there's a lot of emptiness.

I would place them on the not-so-scary spectrum of the scale personally, once you know the area they'll pop out at it makes you jump a lot less. It's surprise factor rather then scary factor.

oh the lore is really in depth if you like that sort of game, like me. It's a struggle to keep up with if you're not paying attention while questing and talking to people. I have trouble and I've played it a few times through.

PS: Listening to grown straight men try hard at sounding tough, only to scream like sl-- bimbo #1 in a horror flick, is beautifully entertaining to me.

I want to thank you for sending me on this journey of youtube surfing for "men screaming like girls."   Best so far...

Oh that is a major relief. So they aren't big as houses like DA2? I'd hate to spend all that money and then only play it once because I'm stupidly phobic.

Edit: Did a google image search, and was nervous, but then I laughed! They're really much more comical than scary.

They are big (in a video game so obviously bigger then a normal spider) but from someone who has an issue with spiders in games, they're not that bad. lol, and not house sized. The game does make fighting them very satisfying however, just grab something that burns (fire spell or fire staff, flame chakrams etc) and watch them get squished like little bugs.

D'aw, that was precious. And probably the Warp Zone guys in a nutshell through most of the Slenderman LP in the SGS series. I really hope they do another Scary Game Squad in the near future. Also, I've never tried Evan Williams but their constant talk of how bad it was made me want to try it for kicks and giggles. Ironically, all of the reviews I've read talked about tasting of bananas an nuts. Bananas. And Nuts. snerkledoodles

If you already use steam for some games, yes. It's pretty much the only EA game I'd say that for, lol. The bundle from steam puts all the content into one download, its not a huge game from memory. 11gb maybe with all other content? but honestly go via whatever client works best for you/your computer. Just steam will give you one pack free lol. Not an overly important one but still. I personally have it through steam only, and haven't encountered any problems.

Yep, I have Steam for a few other games, run it side by side with origin, so doesn't matter which one to me. :)

well grab it through steam and get the bundle, all of the content in one. Where origin would charge an extra 9 bucks in total for everything hehe. Money counts!

How am I going marketing EA's old games for em? roflmao.

The good thing about KoA is you can mix up 'combat roles' I start rogue and dip into mage.

That's pretty much how I play Oblivion and Skyrim. Mostly a rogue, but I mage and pot like a champ. Though I make tons of invisi-pots. I do love shooting fireballs and lightning. I think Awakening Anders had the right idea. My mind canon RP has an... interesting time with him.
