That's pretty much how I play Oblivion and Skyrim. Mostly a rogue, but I mage and pot like a champ. Though I make tons of invisi-pots. I do love shooting fireballs and lightning. I think Awakening Anders had the right idea. My mind canon RP has an... interesting time with him.

I've always played a female rogue my first time with a game. It's like a tradition at this point. Its only been at my 5th+ playthroughs that I start playing mages, lol. Nothing against them, it's just that I've always preferred to be in the thick of battle.

When i can, I go rogue and add in some mage stuff. When I can't I play rogue as first choice. Only exception is DA games where I always seem to go mage as first choice, then rogue.

Actually, DA:I has convinced me to start playing ranged characters more often, haha. Standing atop a mountain and killing demons who couldn't reach me was thrilling! But I usually prefer to be close-up because I can see their healthbar and the damage I'm doing more clearly, haha.

My first play through with DA games is rogue. But in Skyrim, I'm a DBH member with full Nightingale and a bow or dual daggers/axes. I get the biggest kick out of power-invisipotting while I pick off my prey. I mean enemies.

In DA2 I had a blast with dual axes. I let Seb do his thang with Temperance, Varric with Bianca, and Anders with Venge magicks. But my bestest party in DA2 was Varric, Anders, and Fenris. I'm pretty sure those two fought over my Hawke's fine, sexy self, just like Alistair and Zev did with my human rogue Warden. My Drow was rogue, but that's a given I'd say. I may also create a Drow mage for more giggles.

I don't play Skyrim; too many issues with it's CC and I don't like the playstyle. I tried about 45 mins worth of my ex's game, and 35 of those were spent cursing at the CC.

And I'll never play DA2 again. The spiders are just too much for me, and I'm not a fan of the art style, too anime like.

Skyrim mods. Only 2 words I say for cc in that game. I hate trying to make a decent anything without them, but with them> holy heck is my wood elf some sort of supermodel looker or what bahaha. I'm still not overly happy with her but she's good enough. Definitely not suited to Skyrim hehe

In DA games I always start with 2 handed warriors because they are good damage dealers. In DA:O I quit and restarted to be a sword and shield warrior because of the slow attacking animation with 2 handers, then I discovered Haste and had lots of fun beating up lots of enemies while swinging my greatsword like a maniac. In DA2, 2 handers are so much fun and they do lots of damage. In DAI, they are a little fragile, but I still love them. I like all the classes but 2 handed warriors are my favorite.

In Skyrim, I started as a sword and shield Nord and then got bored because the world is so open and there was just so much to do. I may try it again if it gets added to the backwards compatible games list.

Skyrim: the game where your journal list of quests will constantly grow and grow until it becomes overwhelming. Meanwhile you're still chasing that friggin elk across the map needing one more hit on it

Seriously. I am surprised! Everyone I talk to on here either plays mage or rogue.. I play warrior myself! Though lately I've been dabbling in rogue/ranger classes for games..

Two handed is loads of fun in DA2. On DAO and DAI though? Not so much.

I'm currently doing another Diablo 3 run and playing as barbarian.. you can use two handed weapons or dual wield two swords.. best class ever. So much blood..

TW3 is like that. Kinda funny.. they pile up, and the further you level up, the less likely you will gain exp for quests that are a lower level.

I'm weird, I love playing rogue or mage right. Well if I'm in an online game I prefer to run around with (play the game with) someone who is that specific game's equivalent of a two-hand warrior, or sword and board. I love watching people play warriors etc, I'm just personally horrible at the class haha

my bf plays barbarian in Diablo 3, awesomest thing ever to watch.

In DA:I I nicknamed Acantha my ballerina because I'd build up energy and then have her spin around the battlefield with her great-axe. It was a very pretty axe and she looked very graceful, haha. I loved it!

But the improtant part is: do you chase some snarky bloody deer/elk halfway across the map? if not, it's not good enough!

I am joking around by the way, the elk thing is a joke between everyone I know personally who plays Skyrim.

Well, I mod the crap out of the games I play. For Skyrim you can mod in more styles with CC, so I never care too much if it's limited early on. DAO was a bit limited for me hair wise, so I modded that puppy. My avvy is a prime example. I still need to add in the custom tints, but since modding that is a bit more complex, I've been lazy. I'm completely in love with the Ebony armor mod I found because it adds in gold trim. Sadly I don't have screenies of that, just old ones from a fanfic I thought I wanted to write. Gameplay wise there are many things I wish would have gone into Skyrim, like the zoomed in dialog. That's what DAO did as well.

I enjoyed many things about DA2 in spite of hearing so many complaints. The main issue I had with anime-feel was Fenris feeling very Final Fantasy. The default Fem Hawke reminds me of Truble from Grimm. But with more sass. I do change Fenris' clothing, though. I did a Big Bad Fenris once. I mean, I modded him. I didn't do him yet:huh:

Skyrim mods: I try my best to find the most toned-down makeup mod there is, then use it the same way I do with my own makeup contouring: earth tones. I also use a custom race called Ashen for humans. I think it pulls from Breton in the default dialog choices, but it could be that the last time I had to import saves, it chose Breton for me before I added all my mods back. Here's a cropped screenie of a recent one I was messing with. Pardon the low graphics. My recent computer purchase was an emergency buy. I gave her darker eyes because I'm thinking up a character story I actually want to write about some time. Perhaps she uses charcoal? lol

Spoiler

And for lolzies. The boys in my Awakening playthrough were misbehaving. I swear, I have to constantly mother them. But I think Anders just wants a spanking.

I like rogues too but nothing beats being up close and personal with a big strong warrior and shrugging off damage.

The craziest thing I've had happen in Skyrim was when I was on that bridge. I forgot the name. It may be near a redoubt or something. But I had my horse Ally with me, and ended up chasing these bandits to the top of a tower and onto the bridge. Well, Ally shows up. Somehow she made it up the stairs and onto the bridge. Oddly enough, I was watching Jesse Cox play through the same thing about a week before hand. He ended up dying trying to ride her off the bridge. It took me a 2nd try, but I got my own Ally off the bridge. The bonus feature I got was having Ally actually levitate-gallop off the bridge.

I only just learned how to mod DA:I, and while it's fine, I generally just prefer to play the vanilla game.

But Truble from Gimm is one of my favourite characters ever!!

Actually, I do have ONE warrior, and it was because I envied Alistair with his shield bashing awesomeness. Plus, I kinda feel more like Xena that way.

Speaking of Xena, I did use a Xena mod on Oblivion once. Yes, I am proud of myself. No, don't judge me.

I just discovered how awesome the Whirlwind ability is. It's even better if you use a stun ability and then nobody can block it. And I think it is a combo that does extra damage to your enemies.

Yeah it's my preferred play style. I like to be the aggressor. With mage or bow you gotta keep running away to find a spot to shoot at the enemy.. in the meantime, they all gang up on you lol. I'd rather take them on.

Set your ability reserve to 10% and see just how many whirls you can do, it's intense! I always followed it up with that ground smashing move; yes Dazzle's a bit of a pyro. :P

My gameplay style varies with each game. In Skyrim I found myself using a bow more often. I tried a crossbow, even named it Buffy, but I wasn't as fond of it. With Dawnguard DLC, I loved having exploding arrows. I haven't tried going for an all out archer in any DA game yet. I'm taking my sweet little time trying out all the options I can. But with certain online games I start out as a cleric/mage/healer. Depends on the game. But in Neverwinter I'm really digging my Whisperknife. I'm still new to the game itself, but I've been taking my time, reading about builds, and seeing how the mechanics work. First game I've really made an attempt to properly learn these things. Others I've tried felt too grindy.

I don't have DAI yet on purpose. I'm letting a friend of mine tell me his take on the game until then. I will vanilla DAI until I feel like I should add toppings. :P

Edit: Pyros are fun (in games). Who wouldn't want to play with fire?

I'd have been so lost as an archer without that leaping shot. Dear god, the amount of times I get ganged up on as a mage is insane!
