God season 1 of TNG was just so *drink* worthy. They had all the subtly in their social commentary of a chain saw. Mind you I guess that is what is sometimes the best social commentary, doing the extreme of something to emphatize the point. Just I do not feel they handle it with much grace, especially early on...its gonna be a rough couple of weeks.

I should really brush up on my nerdy sci fi shows. So far I've only watched Battlestar Galactica remake 
Ahh, season 1...The only thing I remember (meaning not consciously forgotten) from that is Natasha Yar's (the security chief before Worf) backstory and how it kinda painted the Federation as a bunch of hypocrites unintentionally. I mean a world experiences a global civil war resulting in all parties losing, no central government or organized forces or agencies beyond local gangs left around to keep order to the point where 'rape gangs' become a thing (yes, gangs whose primary purpose is rape) and what does the Federation do? Absolutely nothing. I found that almost as funny as season 1 Worf
TNG did get better. I liked it. After a fashion. But its hard for me to think of a series I have disliked more in my life in general. That I have put a lot of time in watching anyways.

Sorry don't really find it that funny, but I have seen all the things. Its fantasy that I am still a bit weak on. Also...that is an odd sci fi show to be the only one. The BSG remake was......good but not great. I did find the pacing in that show to be rather horrible.
