Why would you want to be an archer, when there's already 2 of them? I'd rather choose a combat style that allows for more diversity in the PC and companions.
Drink whenever Drinkquisition gets derailed by sensible posts.
Ahh... but isn't there 2 or more, of everything, though?
Save for two-handed, IB is the only one.
I generally play as a mage because I want to get that them against us vibe. In origins though I changed it because I wanted to be queen. Having said that I did start a warrior playthrough on DAI before I bought the PS4 and I really enjoyed it. That grappling hook move followed by a kick in the teeth felt oddly satisfying. I probably need help.

Well all your companions cover what IQ can do, except for the focus thing that is unique, so it doesn't matter. It doesn't even matter from the team balance perspective, I've run with an all rogues group.

Because being an Archer is bad ass. And that's great for you, but I prefer to pick a class I love to play. I don't give a rats ass about party balance either. I usually roll with an all ranged party too: two archers, two mages. Good times.
And HB, there are a few people on this forum who are under the impression that I only know how to form arguments using gifs.

I'm kinda happy you can pick from a whole bunch of companions to form a party, it enables you to be whatever the hell you want.
Being a mage though.. for a boobie staff of all things... it's gonna be tough. I'm used to maximum guard and bashing my way through hordes of enemies.. so when I'm mage I have to run away to a safe spot like a wuss. 
It'll be worth it though.. Sera will enjoy our.. um.. bedroom activities, with that new staff.
And LOL. I'd believe it, if I hadn't been talking to you on this thread for a month now...
