I read "The Hobbit" when I was 10. I have no memory of what happened in it.I didn't. I tried LOTR about the same time and then read it like five years later thinking that with maturity I would like it more. Didn't work out too well. But funilly enough I LOVE the Hobbit. And even the Fellowship wasn't that bad.

Is that....Charles Dance?
OMG Seven Hells. ![]()

Weird. In September, I will be 20... and I don't even care.
*cuddles up with his Stark blanket and consoles himself* ![]()
I was more into Tom Clancy, Jack Higgins, Robert Ludlum. Spies, espionage, terrorism.I read the Hobbit at 12/13 and love it, still.
The Lord of the Rings I would have been 14 when I first read that trilogy.. around 16 when I actually liked it.
I enjoy a lot of magical/sci-fi series though. David Eddings, Tolkien, Richelle Mead, Raymond E Feist, Ian Irvine (View From The Mirror Quartet), Robin Hobb (Liveship Traders series) to name a few authors in my bookshelf.

Tom Clancy is one of my favorites. Started reading them around my early teens maybe even as early as 12. Love his works. Still, they are a bit...meaty.

Me too! He was awesome ![]()
As thrilling as the Red Wedding was it sucks that he had to die.

Funny I didn't start getting the character until season 3. Season 3 is just when things started to gel for me. Jon, Robb, Danny. Etc. And that is the season when they started to drop off like flies. Which is kind of typical. My favorite characters of the show have emerged pretty much unscathed so far, but when I start thinking they would make a good candidate for the Iron Throne. they start dying.

I no longer know how old I am unless I use a calculator. I stopped counting at around 19 I think.
For Donk:

So...nine hundred and twenty one then?
Are we supposed to care about our age?
I don't know, nor do I care. Though my mum thinks I should. Since I was 15, I have not cared about birthdays. I didn't celebrate my 16th, my 18th and I don't intend to celebrate my 20th either.

Boy did I celebrate my twenty fifth.
I celebrated hard. ![]()

I look amazing for my age if that is the case ![]()
Good for you? Plenty of people don't care.
There are also plenty of people that think it's a huge deal and will stop at nothing until you do "something" to celebrate the passing of a year.
So this is really you complaining about those who think you should care. There are also plenty of people that think it's a huge deal and will stop at nothing until you do "something" to celebrate the passing of a year.

Yes, I guess so. ![]()

As I recall, Robb didn't have much of a role in the first two seasons..
The first season focused more on Jon Snow and Ned Stark going to King's Landing, as well as taking his two daughters so they could adjust to life there.
So I didn't really get attached to Robb until season 3 either. My respect skyrocketed when he told the Freys to eff off about marrying one of the daughters and married the woman he loved instead. Of course, that had some serious consequences.
It's a real shame about House Stark. I liked them, and they got screwed over pretty good.
I've only seen the first two episodes of season five so my favourite characters are now Tyrion, Cersei (schadenfreude purposes) Arya and Brienne has grown on me a lot. Oh and I love Pod! He stuck by Tyrion's side regardless of what happened, unlike a certain wh0re..
There are also plenty of people that think it's a huge deal and will stop at nothing until you do "something" to celebrate the passing of a year.
I know how you feel. Call me a bore but I don't get excited for any "days" of the year i.e Christmas, easter, new year's, etc. It shits me off, it's just a reminder of how feeble people really are. They drop everything for a set date so they can perform their yearly rituals and celebrate, and make stupid and illogical choices like maxing out credit cards for Christmas presents.
The one that really irks me is Valentines Day, like people need a set date to remind themselves of the person they love. Pfft.
So yeah, my birthday isn't all that exciting. I won't say no to material objects given to me on the day though ![]()
