LMAO. I think I get you.

It's kinda like.. a car salesman, who boasts and advertises how great the car is. Then the customer buys the car, and finds out after a few runs that engine and other mechanics are a bit dodgy.. and it leaks!! But the customer has already grown fond of the car, and will do whatever it takes to fix it..

Okay, maybe that wasn't the best analogy.

I actually really like this analogy. other then the 'fix it' part it kinda works. You don't fix your sig other, well shouldn't even try to. But other then that, spot on!

Consoles suck for that! I swear on my PS4 it takes longer for a game, example gta, to install then it did to download!

Hence why I said it wasn't the best analogy. I didn't mean "fix".. in a relationship sense, it would be close to compromise, but that doesn't really work for a vehicle, unless it's something minor like the radio doesn't work, etc.

...I don't get either of you!

Well... I have had multiple relationships and am divorced once.

Mind that I do not throw this in to demonstrate superiority (which would be insane anyways), merely experience you can't really not soak up, no matter how dense you are. It doesn't necessary make you smarter, but it definitely makes you different.

I just treat all my dates like I would a good friend. I mean, I don't tell them every deep dark secret, but I'm pretty much my normal self with everyone.

I think we date very, very differently, darling...

Oh, don't take this as an offence. But if what you say is absolutely true -because again, I think one cannot control it either way, since it is one's self-preception that is changed here, too- then of that, I am certain.

I definitely behave with more regards to etiquette and speak more consciously when I'm on a date with someone I'm interested in.

I agree very much with Dieb's definition of dating. This is how I have always seen it, I think the much older term would be.. close to courting? getting to know them?

That is actually the perfect synonym.

Oh I have always loved the Donkobuster's blunt snark and parody threads. She's the Red Jenny of the BSN. At least for a week or so. Then she's just Jenny. Somebody burn my keyboard. DAMNIT I AM BETTER THAN THIS!

And Roy? Oh man, I thought that dude was awesome from the start.

Like, we hit it off like Starsky & Hutch, bro style. He lifted the same as I, so I figured he assumingly had a very fine [REDACTED] as well. Which I wouldn't care about, but for a socially interesting reason, its proximate existence makes heterosexual men more comfortable in pretty much any situation except the ones it's actually used in. Come to think of it, that's kind of strange... anyways, I complimented his beard and was totally gonna invite him over for many footbally action movie beers over the grill whilst talking about boobs and muscle cars.

Welcome, unfamiliar DrinkQuisition personage!  *Hands kalasaurus a complimentary mug of Chasind Sack Mead*  CHUG A MUG!

Okay, please tell me y'all are younger than me, I'm supposed to be the socially awkward when offline one!

Never, not one date? Not even a "could be construed as a date but I'm not counting it date"?

I mean, I'm not trying to make anyone feel awkward or upset here, but haven't I heard y'all talk about exes and significant others?

Sorry, feel free to shut me up at any time.

Lesse... I'm probably  the oldest person in the DQ, I think it is safe to say.  I've not been in a relationship for, oh, going on 4 years now, and I'm pretty much fine with that for the time being.  Perfectly happy sharing my life with my dog and two cats for the time being.

As far as dating, I am getting the vibe from all the other posts that I don't really view it as most of the rest in the DQ do.  I am quite the traditionalist, in fact.  Not at all into "hooking up" or "friends with benefits" or any of that resurgent free love stuff from the 60s.  I start dating someone, it is immediately exclusive as far as I am concerned until she or I tell the other, "thanks, been grand, but it's not working out."  (that sounds more flippant than I meant it to)

Oh, never done the online dating thing.  Not opposed to it, mind you, but I didn't grow up with the internet, so it's not anything I was ever familiar with.  I'd rather just meet someone in a store or park or whatever.

Right here, right now I'll confess something

  Hell, her Royness still scares me!  Donk (who I very first remember seeing posting as Behemoth very briefly before she switched to Honorable Bigot) is just my best buddy :)

Btw, Stormy, I am -really- glad you've come out of your shell as it were here in the DQ.  I remember your first few timid posts.  *hug*  Rock on, sis!

that sentence, is exactly me. I think I said earlier my bf and I never had that "wanna be my bf/gf or exclusive or whatever" talk/chat/ask/query . Agreeing to meet for the movie was it, we were us. together. *clings* actually that is a running relationship joke, I get clingy every few months lol.

I had a shell? I know I have a table fort that you keep gatecrashing!

I'm kind of glad I have too, seriously. Humans by human nature require socialising, and I did none of that beforehand, depression due to that and anxiety at talking to people sucks. Thank the creators, the stone, the Maker, Andraste, the Spirits, the Dragons and whatever else I missed for DQ.
