Alright, not exactly the same sort of thing but actually more insidious.  I was once the victim of a cyber hate campaign on a forum which I long since quitted.  This person took a dislike to me (fair enough, don't have to be liked by everyone), but what they started doing was pm'ing people and making up stories about me.  I had no idea what was going on but I was getting a vibe anyway.  Fortunately one person had the decency to message me with a copy of what was being circulated.  It was libellous but what made me sick to my stomach was that so many were ready to believe straight up lies and not question this other person about what they were saying about me.  Only one person had the guts to give me the opportunity to defend myself.  It only didn't go to court because I got a public apology on the forum from this snake.  Bad memories *drinks*

 

So much crap could be avoided if people just ...... *shakes head sadly and f*ucks off to spare everyone Paragon's downer*

 

Paragon, I am truly sorry I upset you by posting that story.  That was the last thing I would have wanted to happen, and I hope you know I'd have never posted it if I'd suspected in the least it would have upset you.  I didn't mean for it to dredge up bad memories of your treatment on another forum.  Hope you can forgive me.

"adorer qc/qn" is French for "being utterly madly in love with something/someone". It is actually an augmentation of the word "aimer" from the ever popular "je t'aime", i.e. to love. So the French actually have a verb for a feeling more intense than love.

 

"J'aime bien mon mari, mais j'adore mes enfants." - I love my husband, but I [adore] my children.

 

Words like "adore" incorporated into the English language have lost a lot of their original merit to the commonplace, and I just  may  be on a little crusade there.

I can understand dislike for the word when used against you in such a way. I'd never do that to someone, especially someone I consider a friend.

One of my irrational pet peeves is the pronounciation of the word Lydes.

I booted up my first save with Kyrrah, just to see where it was I saved it in case I want to play through with her again. Turns ut it's literally just before the IYHSB big walk to Skyhold cutscene. Niiice!
