*sits there fidgeting*

I have no idea what we're talking about anymore

I was turning the convo from the guys recommending scifi shows to me, into an analysis on the fact that as a younger brother, I was conditioned to always root for the "second most awesome" guy in a show, also called the "Lancer" (the lead being the "Knight" in this analogy) in trope terms.

I have no idea either, but that's partly because I can't be bothered to read the posts I've missed.

Sex, drugs, and rock and role.

What kind of role? Is it for a play or a movie?

You know whats fun? Trying to get f**king cortana to work on windows 10 outside the US. Because it's apparently against corporate policy to have it work on systems outside certain regions. So its settings switching time.Good thing Microsoft is so f***ing smart and all.
Also, the default settings on installation are privacy cancer. And the option to customize settings away from said cancer is a teeny tiny hidden text link while "bend over" default option is a big shiny button.

Good thing I have 2/3 of a tequila bottle left.

edit: Oh wait, you meant it being a flavour of goodness. At first I read it as what should have been "likes well". I was only in physical pain for a second, luckily.

basically the default says yes to sending Microsoft every piece of info about you and your computer.

It's not terrible, but I strangely miss my Windows 8 tiles.

Noooooo....Cortana is nice and cool and just watches over your shoulder what you search, news you read, calendar etc. IF YOU GIVE HER PERMISSION TO DO SO. What i'm talking about is stuff like Microsoft wanting your Wi-Fi password to send to your facebook friends (and their servers), give out your location (which works hilariously bad on desktops with defences against that sort of crap. Microsoft thinks i'm somewhere near Bangor, Maine apparently ) and all that jazz. It's pretty bad. Good think I had a heads-up about it before going in.

Also, first driver issue fixed. Only took 3 hours to get sound back.Apparently this version of windows no longer has the ability to detect when drivers do bad things.

Okay how do I go about changing that stuff? I'm looking but I feel like a child playing with a gun right now. Something bad is going to happen to my laptop!  But seriously, where is this tiny button you mentioned before?

When the setup process is finishing up there will be a dialogue about settings. There's a long blahblahblah with the shiny 'quick settings' button down and to the right. The customize settings is a small print under the blahblah along with some other link. Click that and you'll go through a series of fairly clear toggles to turn that crap off.

Just found a link with instructions post installation, as well as what those settings actually do.

Oh my god, my new flats cut up the back of my ankle. I didn't even notice how much blood there was all over my shoes and jeans until I got back to the car. I spilled like an ounce of blood!

Sh*t! That's not good. Is it bad enough to warrant going to the hospital and getting stitches?
