Frell me dead. Announcement and trailer only a week before it will be released? That's crazy marketing right there.

That was a given for me even before I knew what the DLC was about.

I don't understand this marketing strategy at all. Announcing it to soon to the release just means there are less people who are going to pick it up on release. They should announce it a lot earlier, a couple of weeks at the least, to maximise the number sold.

I think they explained at one point they won't announce DLC's until they believe it's ready to go, so will always be very close to release if they keep that strategy up. It's odd, but removes them from having to stick with a set release date months in advance I suppose.

To be honest I have no idea if it would work out that way or not. I guess the idea is to give people more time to have heard of it? These days, though, people get wind of stuff much quicker than they used to.

Actually I love that approach. "Here's this awesome thing, and you can have it while you're still in initial-mega-hyped-state."

I imagine that if they finished work on it and then held onto it for a month before releasing it people would throw a strop because, as usual, they just can't do anything right however hard they try.

Or just announce the release date, and not say that it's finished (when it actually is).

Using the power of the Drinkquisition, we managed to get a release date for the next single-player DLC, as well as a trailer.

The whiny little botches would find out eventually and then the screaming in outrage would begin.  Sad bastards.

So here's a question for you all.

"The Stone lives  under Orlais."

Which is it, do you think?

Top one. Living earth. Likely corrupted because of some blight stuff, causing those tremors. I'm assuming this is something to do with the new DLC?

I think it was part of Sandal's prophecy?  I'm not sure as I don't remember it or when he said it, but people have been wondering what it means since whenever it was that it was first said, and I think it's come up again in light of the DLC rumours and now the actuality of it.

As usual with such things it's not clear what it means and those are the two obvious emphasis possibilities I recognised when I was thinking about it earlier today.

One suggests, like you said, part of the Stone is awake under Orlais.  The other, that the Stone itself is entirely under Orlais and no where else, like it is a distinct thing rather than all of the stony earth like we might think.

I was just pondering it, is all.

it's a phrase from a codex plus something Sandal says.

The Stone is something dwarves... worship? I don't know the right world for it for them. Kal Sharok thingy is meant to be under Orlais, maybe it's simply pointing out that there's another dwarf city?

I personally think it's all something about lyrium lol.
