I played all MGS and loved them all (except Metal Gear Rising), but I didn't know what the hell was happening half the time!

 

It's pretty notorious for that.  MGS2 in particular, of course.  And there's all the other stuff going on between the lines, like how (on one of its many levels) MGS2 is an indictment of players expecting a sequel to be the same as the previous game, which it mainly does by making that game have a (deeply complex) story reason for having the set up be all but identical to the previous one.  It's weird.  And that's when you're not having to put up with Kojima's fetishes getting screen time.

You know perhaps my only problem with the dragon gear in DA I is that it does also look a little ornamental.  Instead of practical.

Assuming you mean the officer one.  That's  the Mameluke Sword.  The enlisted one is modeled after a 19th century army officer's sword, that's because a Marine NCO is easily the equal of an army officer.   But yeah, they're both totally ceremonial without a sharp edge.

Yup!  I nearly had a seizure and thought the graphics card had melted.  When I realized what was happening I was so relieved - how graphics have moved on.  I mean I'd rather have a stonking story over brilliant graphics any day but still.   *drinks to fond memories of being a sh*t hot operative hiding under a cardboard box*

Btw, I always use the horse jump maneuver to get into that canyon in The Hissing Wastes if I try to go there before I should really be there.  Loop way around to the west, north, then east to that canyon camp, make camp, then summon horsey and take the plunge.  Poor bastard...
