Those things are frickin NASTY.  And the big boss spider in DA 2 almost gave me a heart attack.

Of course there are.

The house sized spiders in DA2 ensured that I only played the game once and never picked it up again.

I'm really glad they toned down the spiders for DA:I.

which is why I simply avoid them. I know spiders can't help looking scary and that in the real world I'll never run into one bigger than me (I hope!).

It's a phobia, I just try to mitigate it as much as possible.

Yeah but in I there are a whole nother level of creepy.  Sure they are not as *big* not as *hairy*  But they move and sound like frickin spiders.  Nope nope nope.

At least these ones seem a lot tamer than the rabid ones in DA:O that jumped down on you from the ceiling.

Spiders are fine as long as they stay out of my home. I will not kill one in its natural habitat. Enter my home, however, and it's open season. They creep me out. Had a neighbor that owned a tarantula and he enjoyed torturing me.

So far JoH is so pretty! And I really like Thane Sun-Hair, she's lovely. No run-ins with creepy crawlies yet, but I did have to run from a giant. Damned giants are worse than dragons I tell you!

It's great! Ogres are challenging. Loot is fantastic. You can outright buy dragon mats for crafting. It's all I ever wanted and I'm not even far in!

To answer your question, Lightning, yes I am enjoying it. Basically what Shimmer_Gloom wrote. It actually reminds me of going through the deep roads in dao, but less of a drag. (Hated the deep roads)

Varric did manage to revive Solas, whose barriers allowed Varric to revive Bruce and Bull, after which they managed to (barely) finish off the last of the darkspawn.  But this fight shows me that level 11 with hinterlands/storm coast material weapons and armor are not  going to cut it.  I am, reluctantly, forced to pull back for the time being.  Will try once I'm around level 15-16 and a have a couple more perks.  Need 12 potions for sure, and a third potion slot would be nice too.  Bees... 

 

Also, thinking maybe replace Bull with Cassie.  You know, someone who can actually take a punch. 

 

I am not sure what I think about the lore.  Not keen on that whole "see the sky, banned from Orzammar" line.  Like, okay, they had a whole army of dwarves marching on the surface in DAO.  Did they refuse the entire friggin' army the right to go back under the mountain afterwards?  I doubt it..
