Yeah Dorian has one...and she looks so ****** sexy there.

I was trying to grab fifteen minutes of epic battle game play...it seems my blue screen wiped it out for some reason.

Not there she doesn't, well she does   but better here. I like my close-ups. still going through my screenshots and vids. doing one mroe proper run to record all the cutscenes for myself.

(for anyone not following that convo, pic has gear spoilers from Descent)

ok, I enjoyed The Descent but not enough for the whole game to have been that linear. I like the really open zones, sure they're a little empty other then the bears in Hafter's Woods, but I still like how the game's done. The zones are beautiful.

I think Descent did a great thing here, I believe they are called 'Skyboxes', it does a great job large and open while being linear in nature.  I have some great screenshots of the 'third level' so far.

Descent was amazing, and the dungeon crawl style, linear pathways, amazing scenery really topped it off. Was just meaning in regards to that thread you mentioned that I wouldn't want the entire DAI game to have been like that lol

I find some just a little too big, the wastes are slightly excessive. But I love JoH's zone, I think it really hit the mark on perfect size and filled with the right amount of content.

Well, at least so far. i think I'm only a quarter through. i hope Descent is just as nice.

Ah me neither.  I think BioWare/ CD Projekt Red has a good formula going here, now they just have to improve it.

meh Skyrim (and Bethesda) really set the bar rather high before those two games came out. I doubt Bioware will go back to this style after all the hate directed at it. Unless they have no choice, then next game on same engine will be exactly the same style as DAI, not improved. I'm a pessimist, I know.

All the hate?  I dunno there has been some but...well...yeah I just do not think the hate has been that severe really.  And really imo Bethesda set that bar so low that you can see the top of it from...

oh right the hate isn't 'open world' it's 'mmo-looking world' and 'empty world' though fingers crossed with no old-gen to craft the game for DA4 can be a big improvement. I'm just salty there's so many faults in my favourite video game, not in the DLC's though! loving both DLC's, both are so amazing I didn't find any issues with them.

We can agree to disagree on how well/badly Skyrim was done.

DAI is your favorite video game?

And I agree.  *points at Witcher 3*  I think we have a good indication of what the next DA game should be like.

N.O. I played another 6 hours of the Witcher. No thankyou, I don't want DA to be like it. My opinion there of course, lol.

Well it depends on what aspect of the Witcher you are talking about because there are many things I would hope DA I does not emulate...well DA in the future.  But the quality of the side quests and how they seamlessly tell a story with the main quest, is one of them I look forward to.  Actually having secondary characters with stories to tell is another.

Anyways, I am finally tired enough and my bladder is empty enough to permit me to go to sleep.  Bleck.  Gonna be an interesting night at work...what else is new.

See I prefer DAI sidequests as they are (able to run in, then out of the conversation, no cutscene just to pick it up etc I found brilliant), doing anything more will steal resources and time from other aspects of the game. I'd like the world zones to be a bit smaller, and the main story longer, done in the same way as DAI where you can almost literally do the next stage of it whenever you are ready to, but a must for a longer main story.

I don't want Dragon Age to become The Witcher, but I would not complain if it shared some things with it, such as the quality of content.

Quality of content is still subjective. I like DAI fine, except for the lack of main quests. I especially love the combat in this one, I am finally not forced into tac-cam just to play a harder mode (or even on the easiest - looking at you dao for stupid pc controls non-tacam). And many of the things I thought the main game was lacking, both DLC's have majorly improved upon for me. I wish DAI was more like it's 2 DLC's I guess

The main quest chain though.. ugh, far too short and ... bouncy/all over the place. The length in particular is where I wish they could improve on next game.

Alright, I'd even like to see a return to DAO's character origin stories.

DAI might be my current favourite game, but it has it's faults, even in my opinions it;'s never ever been perfect.

Main Quest chain: (longer please!)

Go to Hinterlands

Get some power, go to Val Royeaux to get yelled at by a chantry mother and the leader of the templars

Return to Haven

Choose either Mages or Templars, ally or conscript

Close the Breach/Battle of Haven/Find Skyhold - best quest of the main chain in my opinion

Winter Palace

Meet Hawke

Travel to Ritual Site

Siege Adamant/Enter the Fade

Arbor Wilds Battle

Kill Cory-Pory

I agree with you.  Here.  About the dialog.  That was not my problem with them.  My problem with them was that they, by and large, felt like they exisisted in a vaccuum from the other elements of the game.  DA I really did at times feel like two (or three) different games.  An awesome main story (though short) and great character interactions...and then the side quests.  They did not connect with anything, again by and large, not the main story, not each other, and not a lot of the themes set forth in the piece.  They were minutiae most of the time that I rarely felt fully invested in the goings ons of them.

But to be fair there is only two games that I have actually actively praised for their side quests.  And they are, oh irony of ironies...drum roll please...Dragon Age Origins and Witcher 3.

Hmm, to me a lot of the Sidequests connected to what was happening in that particular zone at the time. Of course Emprise and Hissing Wastes did this the best. Exalted Plains had like 3 things happening at once which the sidequests were all about , well mostly about. Emerald Graves not quite as much other then Fairbanks.
