I will continue my new tradition of saying if a spoiler contains anything from the Descent or Jaws DLC in italics. I will spoiler tag any picture taken in the DLC zone, but will state in the italics if it actually shows anything that could be remotely called a spoiler (quest name, gear, an npc in the background etc) or if it's simply from the zone yet nothing could be a spoiler.

Just throwing it out there, but Kyrrah managed to solo one of the bigger bosses in the DLC. Knight Enchanter, barriers, guard on hit + lightning tree for the WIN! my +40 magic staff helped a too.

I started playing Knight Enchanter specialty mages because of Vivienne... and I've never looked back. KE Inky and Vivienne together are virtually unstoppable.

Our Inquisitors would make a good team.

 

I gave Viv Static Cage, too, and my Sabotage/Artificer rogue turns it into hell with Toxic Cloud, Leaping Shot & Throwing Blades. The skills alone do their fair share of damage, but since they all have so many individual hits in quick succession that individual tick the SC upgrade's proc, they are just... mean.

 

Especially Toxic Cloud starts to shine, because it actually adds to the mere damage it deals for standing in it, the Poisoned debuff, which is a seperate DoT also ticking Static Cage individually. It gets really hard to see things with all the numbers and electrical ZAP-noises.

Archers in DAI are so op it's not funny. Though knight enchanter played right, and given practice, is bloody amazing too, static cage for me personally is extremely satisfying. Group of 10 enemies running at you? a few stealthers around the place? bah *static cage* now they're all paralyzed in one place! let the AoE commence!

Right, battle was a cake walk.  IF it stays this easy, I may actually bump up the difficulty.
Massive difference over last night's attempt.  For the sake of my male ego, I am going to write
that off to the ladies all being level 24 and the guys last night being level 11 as opposed to,
well, the guys sucking and the girls kicking ass.

Found a kick butt staff schematic.  Only drawback is no grip or blade.  Wish they wouldn't do that.
Also why she's not in the antaam mage armor.  Not going to sacrifice the % heal on kill her current
armor has, plus it also has a better armor rating.  Pity.  Mega pity

Hmm, I disagree: Dorian and Viv kick all kinds of butt in my game, and do on par damage with Sera/Varric, Viv also being an amazing tank substitute for Cassandra.

I.. don't take Solas anywhere so no comment on him.

No mage I've ever played has come close to Varric or Sera when it comes to dealing damage.

Granted, I know my rogues inside and out so it's not hard for me to make them heavy hitters.

I think it's all what we're personally best at class-wise and know better, experienced etc.

 

My mages are amazing damage dealers and support, probably because I'm best at playing that particular class as Inquisitor and know it inside out now. In comparison my rogues suck compared to what other people manage to get them to do, most likely because I don't know the class well at all seeing as I never play it much personally.
