I just did. ![]()
I just did.
I swear that her helping kill the rift is the only reason that quest is worth doing haha
Curious, has anyone else got the achievement for killing the Harvester on Nightmare?
Honestly, I never bothered to try it on Nightmare, because every party and/or gear getup I remotely enjoyed was also terribly inefficient. Not saying that as an excuse, I also never tried to be especially "good" at combat in DAO generally, either. I really wouldn't know.
I played DA2 on Nightmare, sans Mark of the Assassin. Felicia-Elf blocked my wildcard-slot, which is usually reserved for Aveline for tough encounters. My Hawke is a Rogue, and there's no way I wasn't bringing Bethany and Varric for it, alas. Curiously, the fight to tone it back down without a tank, was actually the optional encounter with the Arcane Horror during the hunting portion.
No mage I've ever played has come close to Varric or Sera when it comes to dealing damage.
This may explain it. Vivienne is actually a tank.
Literally everything she does (dealing damage or being dealt damage) sustains her Barrier, while upgraded Chain Lightning outclasses Warcry in every regard (reach, aggro, cooldown). Just set Spirit Blade & Chain Lightning+ as "preferred", send her in first, and you can give Cassie and Browall a break.

Aveline&Isabela is the best combo to have on Mark of the Assassin. Hilarity ensues
Screw efficency, lulz for the win!
Killing the Harvester on Nightmare is one of the last four achievements I need. They include:
Perfectionist - Across all playthroughs, discovered all possible endings.
Enthralling - Earned maximum approval from all thrall types. (Darkspawn Chronicles)
Amaranthine's Last Hope - Saved the City of Amaranthine.
And of course, I still need to kill the Harvester. I came really close last time, but I couldn't manage to finish it off before it killed me. Gave up after that.
I went full rogue party for MotA because why the hell not.
Well, my usual party in DA2 is always Varric, Isabela and Bethany/Aveline/Merril/Anders.
I never even recruit that brat Fenris, Carver deals with the fact that a brother likes Rogues, and Sebastian is probably the BioWare character I am the most apathetic towards. (congratulations Oghren, you've officially got at least that going for you)
The cat knows. Lulz are more important than efficiency. *drink*Aveline&Isabela is the best combo to have on Mark of the Assassin. Hilarity ensues

See, I don't use a tank at all. I might take Bull if I feel like taking a warrior since he hits harder but I've always been of the belief that offense is the best form of defense, thus 3 rogues and Solas.
It works a lot better as an Artificer though.
Given that she has to attack with the magical wondersword in order to tank, she also deals way higher damage than any tank.
Oh dear Sir, I always artifice.

Still, I really only use mages to set up combos for my Assassin, draw enemies in so can blow them up with Elemental Mines or Static Cage.
For that, Solas' skill set, annoying as he can be, is far better suited to my needs.
I like to switch active characters a lot for fun, so as a result, they are all pretty self-sufficient in offense and defense.
Only downside is, that the already fairly limited AI has no idea what to do with my Inquisitor when I control someone else. It just alternates between Hook & Tackle (because no cooldown) and that AI-only "slowly jog backwards"-thing they applied to Archer Rogues with some patch.
As a result, he almost never uses any skills, because all of them only work at point blank or 10 metre range.
Omg, that happened to me too, except it was Blackwall being a jerk and hiding on a ledge.Took me a while to take that cat down because I was playing down a man. Staches used leaping shot and over the ledge he went. Instead of falling out of bounds he managed to find the one ledge he could land on so far below. Couldn't move either. He was stuck there. Jerk.

This again. Just no.

Seriously, is it rerun season already? These threads were a thing back when DAI came out. The horse is dead >.<
Hey guys, I finished the Descent! Drinks for everyone!
I did pretty good, my party only got wiped out twice and that was duringSpoiler
I ended up turning the difficulty down to hard after that part because I was getting annoyed at how long it took to kill enemies.
I was a little annoyed that I kept getting mage staves instead of warrior items that I really wanted, but all in all, I loved the DLC.

Congrats, Verse! Glad you liked it ![]()
Something like that happened to me too, Varric went across the wall and stayed there stuck for most of the combat.
The guys got less than 30 posts to his name. If it was someone with quite a few more, then I'd say they are doing it on purpose. Someone with only a handful of posts is likely just making his opinion heard for the first time.
It might still be beating a dead horse, but hell, we are all allowed to express our opinion on the matter.
Some people really are disliking things with a professionality that is worrying.
I wouldn't waste so much time on anger over something that is effectively meant to waste time.
Really, the only game I have ever truly hated was Destiny, but for it I have mostly my gullible, delusional self to blame. All others just spark utter and complete apathy. Which is why they're bad.
Did anyone else's Inky or companions get stuck in the dark area of the Forgotten Caverns? Because it happened to me with Blackwall and Sera, then I had to beat lots of enemies with just my inky and Dorian. It was really annoying.Congrats, Verse! Glad you liked it

Well yes, we are, but still there are lots of posts about that already- go complain in there. And also, the guy joined in 2010 so he's not that new.

The guy might have joined in 2010, but that doesn't mean to say he's been lurking around for 5 years.

Edit: And the search function is a common feature on every board. I don't pity da fools who don't use it before making a new topic.
