Oh ,yeah! Damn!

I forgot! I did this with the Sera thread.

1918...

The year the First World War ended. Some four years after the war began - and about 18 million pointless deaths - two major empires in Europe have been torn apart, another massive country suffered a revolution, and one empire began to lose it's dominant place in the world. I speak of the German Empire, Austro-Hungarian Empire, Russia and the United Kingdom, respectively. A new superpower began more prominency across the Atlantic ocean instead, and thirty years, two months and ten days later, the events of the war led to a new major conflict that has shaken the entire world.

Edit: And a pointless post has caused this to be on page 1919. I'll just go facepalm in peace now.

Okay DQ, I am probably gone for the night because I now have to reinstall my entire system.

Bought some stuff at Best Buy, got a free subscription to Kaspersky for six months so figured what the hell.  Loaded it up, seemed good, except now I couldn't get online with Drink... er, Inquisition.  Couldn't figure out it, decided feck it, not worth the hassle, tried to uninstall.  System totally froze on uninstall.  Locked solid.  Rebooted.  Tried to uninstall again, told already uninstalled (though it is also still running in the system tray.)  Tried reinstalling hoping I could then uninstall.  Nope, cannot install because a "previous installation was still in process."  FML.

Oh well, I'd just upgraded to Windows 10 anyway and had made Win 10 media on USB, so at least I got that going for me.  Nice clean install now instead of an upgrade... looking at the silver lining here.

Suck it, Hawke.  I know you caused this somehow from the  fade because I always pick you to stay there.  Well if you think this is  changing that...

(I'll try to keep up quietly via my phone, but doubt I'll post much if at all because posting from a phone sucks big donkey ears.  Yeah, ears.)

Haven't broken the ice, really. There's four years of war, right there, and I just named the largest consequences that everyone (at least in my country - there are probably only a few things about the war interesting to an Aussie, considering that your involvement hasn't been as pronounced during the war, and I get the feeling some might just wave it off as "Commonwealth armies" - but to me, as a citizen of one of the countries created by the fall of Austria-Hungary, this is a very important development in the history of my country) should know.

There's a lot of things in history, and we barely know anything, IMHO.

Yeah Aussie's main war interaction we historically talk a lot about when talking about our history is Gallipoli and.. Vietnam? somewhere close to Vietnam? can't quite remember. One of the perks of being a country located on an island a good flight time / longer sailing time away from everyone. America, as an ally, takes credit for most military stuff now-days and the Commonwealth as a whole is the other, which Australia is part of as you already know.

Known history is only what people who could write at the time decided to record. We know a very, very tiny percentage of what really happened 50-500+ years ago.

Yes. The ANZAC is a fairly big thing, all things considered.

Then there's the whole thing about Australia actually being somewhat threatened by the Japanese in WWII. I mean, CORAL SEA.

And, of course, Vietnam. Maybe Korea, but a lot of people have actually forgotten there ever was a Korean war.

I wouldn't worry, though. The Korean war is letting us know that it never actually officially ENDED. They signed the Armistice, but not the Peace Treaty.

Technically, the Korean War is STILL going on... which is funny, because there seems to be something new brewing on that border. Except, you know, it's not funny at all, because war.

There is always something going on in Korea. It's a never ending cycle, but as other countries we really don't have a right to stick our nose in, we just do so anyway to try to help stop it whether they ask or not, I think SK asked for help at one point?

Oh yeah I forgot about the Japanese bombing flights, shows how much I paid attention to primary school history lessons. I think they were flight bombing runs focused on our military/naval bases and general infrastructure (railways, airports, harbours etc) rather then a mindless killing spree, it was targeted. I think the hardest hit was Darwin with almost 300 civilian lives lost or something, it wasn't a huge number in comparison to other skirmishes. ANZAC was definitely our main one though, and I think our first major military movement. My "used to be step-dad but they divorced yet still closest thing to a dad I have" was stationed in Somalia at one point.

Spoiler

On my Fade being less scary back then comment, yes I know DAI shoved us into the Nightmare's realm while DAO's mage origin one appears to be pride demon controlled. So there was a reason for the creepiness  I don't need to have liked the creepy crawlies in DAI bahaha

I think we're good if Drinquisition stays the way it's always been, otherwise they would have shut it already, what we have been doing is absolutely fine as others have said ahha (I have had coffee now so understand!). It's just so long as we don't make it 10x as completely out there haha

Indeed.  My argument, and heck does the DQ really have a topic?  I don't think so...I mean 'poking fun at all the stupid arguments you see people make in regards to Inquisition/ Andromeda' is not strictly speaking a 'topic'. :P

****, too many replies and not enough time to read them all before going to work!

*drink*

They got rid of Off-Topic... I'm just echoing what was said in the thread Dame linked but come on, that is a sh*tty move on part of the BioWare team. Really sh*tty...

Seems very odd to get rid of that forum...

*totally on topic btw*

RIVAINI!!! I LOVE YOU IN A TOTALLY PLATONIC WAY!!

Fine.. Now.. *sniffs and wipes tears with a sleeve* ..now everything fine. *stupidly smiles at Rivaini*

And I'm glad to know that you are alright. Hope you will be able to spend more time with us, but don't want to nug. :D

 Hey! My kisses rare and precious!

My kisses are even more rare. *drink*

Terrible things are afoot in BSN. Let us hope we survive The Cullen Culling.

That is a well angry cat. I can practically hear that low growl.

Cullen. ROFLMAO

We are safe for now.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG HAPPY DANCE AND MORE DRINKING! Cabot, open the taps! That seriously made my day.

I just realized that we are a master thread!

Slightly off-topic... at times...

laughter-gif.gif

WE ARE THE MASTERS!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Seeing as the last couple of pages had nothing to do with Bioware (which is what they mean by going too far off-topic (forum topic!), just so you know!) I take it on myself, again, to drag the "topic" back just in case.

Now when the heck did we get Bioware-famous to the point Conal not only mentions DQ but calls it a master thread and allows it to stay.

WE ARE LOVED!

Cookie got her heart broken by a well-known bald fade-nerd. She's now run off on vacation.

Reminds me I need to take Artemis through post break up stuff.

More replies will come just as soon as I find a quite corner at work. Until then, keep drinking.

Never mind. I said screw it to the rest. Drink up! So does being a master thread give me even more power?

You guys done being arseholes to each other?

A Rogue in Keeper Robes?

I haven't thought of this... yet I approve of the way this looks...

Maybe because by the time I tried the Keeper Robes on Arianne, she was already wielding daggers. With daggers, it looks... worse.

Uuuh... Elf... in that kind of attire...

Errr... I'm in my room, if you're looking. For me, I mean.

Yes, the keeper robes were more fitting for her than the scout armor.

Hey guys, what's up?

Does anyone else get kind of annoyed at how demanding the captives in Sahrnia Quarry are? I was in the middle of fighting red templars and this guy is like: "Let us out!"

I was like "Can I kill the enemies first, so they don't kill us?" but most of the time I just want to tell them to shut up. Lol.

YES!

I leave them in the cages until I'm done wiping out all the templars in the mine.. out of protest..

Passive-aggressive attitudes aren't all that bad, when prisoners nagging to be let free are concerned. I much prefer the slaves in the Hissing Wastes, they thanked me so sincerely each time I told them to head to an Inquisition camp!
