The Adventures of a bored Verse Part 3

 

"That was too close." Verse said. "You have impeccable timing, Ash. Thanks for the Barrier."

 

"A riddle door. Damn. I have no idea." Verse said, her brow furrowing in concentration.

 

"It's a river" Sera chimed in from behind them. Ash and Verse both looked at her, confused. "What? I know things."

 

The door swung open to reveal a group Venatori trying to break into the vault. Upon seeing Verse and StormQueen, they readied their weapons and charged towards them.

 

StormQueen cast a Lightning Cage and stopped the enemies in their tracks while Verse slipped into stealth and began slashing away at them with her daggers. There was electricity flying all over the place and Sera just stayed back and peppered the enemies with arrows that Stormy had thoughtfully remembered to bring for her. Once the last Venatori was down, they made their way to the final door to the Vault.

Most nations have their own nomenclature for the weapons their military forces use, do they not?  For example, what makes "M1014" more 'correct' a name than "L128A1" is?  You'll no doubt find these names are also completely different to how the manufacturers designate them.  Tis just the military's love of jargonising and acronyming.

 

 

Makes sense, then.

 

EVERYONE calls the damn thing MP5. The rest, I care not for.

- Invernesse chapter

 

StormQueen daintily lifts the hem of her robes, carefully stepping over a fried Venatori. "Did there have to be water in here?"

 

Invernesse stares at her, "you're quite happy frying people with lightning, getting covered in blood and who knows what else, but you're getting squeamish over an inch of muddy water?"

 

StormQueen snorts, "yes, can we get this over with? I hope that door is normal locks, but what are the odds.."

Pressing an ear to the door she starts listening for the familiar hum of magic... glaring at Sera who is snickering behind a hand. "Don't feel magic, don't hear magic in this room" StormQueen mutters grumpily, "be much simpler if it was magic. This doesn't make sense"

 

She glances up at the moss covered ceiling, "Just.. be careful trying to open that thing"

The Adventures of a bored Verse Part 4

 

"Don't worry, I'll handle this, I am an expert at non-magical locks." Verse said, getting out her set of lock picks and getting to work.

 

"So, what are the odds of there not being traps inside the vault?" StormQueen asked. 

 

Verse finally got the lock out of the way and the door swung open. They heard the familiar click of a trap and in a second, Stormy and Verse were covered from head to toe in blue paint. Sera had managed to avoid most of the paint and she doubled over in laughter, while Verse and Stormy just glared at her. 

 

"Damn it, Paragon! Why did it have to be another trap." Verse grumbled, wiping the paint off of her face. 

 

"She is so getting shocked when I see her later." StormQueen said.

StormQueen slowly turns to look at Invernesse in cold fury, "how did I let you talk me into this?"

Glancing down at the muddy water, now mixed with blue paint, at her feet she sighs heavily.

 

"Maybe Paragon left us at least something for all our trouble. You know, other then the paint..."

 

StormQueen gingerly enters the room, shooing away a couple of stray, friendly spirits. After a casual glance around notices there isn't anything in the room, except an ancient looking pedestal in the centre with a full mug of something that smells like mead on it.

 

Upon approaching the pedestal and it's mug StormQueen suddenly gets a really bad feeling.

 

"oh no...."

She gets thrown backwards into the far wall by a sudden force of energy

I am enjoying the adventure, so I shall continue reading it tomorrow.

edit - on my 3ds and about to sleep, but that was so funny Ash and Verse I had to comment xx I look forward to reading the rest tomorrow!

"Oh for the love of... An Arcane Horror? Why did it have to be an Arcane Horror?" Verse grumbled, pulling out her daggers for what felt like the hundredth time today.

 

Sera cursed loudly and pulled out her bow, "You Ok, Stormy?" She asked. 

 

StormQueen got up and dusted herself off, her eyes shining with fury. She Fade Cloaked herself and started slashing away at the Arcane Horror with her Spirit Blade, muttering curses the whole time.

 

"Sera, use your Thousand Cuts!" Verse shouted as she got knocked down by the Horror's Mind Blast. 

 

Sera giggled to herself before she began dashing to and fro and cutting the Horror almost a thousand times in a few seconds. 

 

When the Horror finally fell, the three women went to check out the pedestal that had summoned the demon, finding a note on top.

 

The note read: 

 

You didn't think it would be that easy, did you? Mwa ha ha ha.

- Invernesse chapter

 

StormQueen flies into a rage, sending lightning shocks everywhere, "Giants, muddy water, blue paint, muddy water, friggin arcane horrors and all because of PARAGON!"

She calms down a little, resolving herself to muttering about all the ways to shock trap Paragon when she gets back to Skyhold.

 

In her frustrated pacing StormQueen trips over the hem of her robe landing first first in the muddy water....

 

She picks herself back up and bursts into tears. "Did I mention muddy water!" StormQueen wails.

Sera backs away slowly, and looks nervously over at Invernesse, "cranky and upset mage, yeah? time to run? because water and lightning really don't mix."

"We should get back to Skyhold. We can get our revenge on Paragon when we get back." Verse said, slowly backing out of the water and away from Stormy.

 

"Yeah, we can discuss our revenge on the way." Stormy said, calming down a little and drying her eyes with a look of determination on her face.

 

"Good. Now lets get out of this stupid place." Sera said. "I need a drink after all that."

 

"Me too." Verse and StormQueen said in unison.

 

They mounted their trusty steeds and began the long trip back to Skyhold, eager to regail the Drinkquisition with their tale and exact their revenge on Paragon.

 

The End...?

And I always take pics hehe. replaying my 'canon' Warden, now renamed Frejah (was Talia), Im still feeling a little weird about Frejah and Kyrrah looking somewhat similar (they are meant to) when Cullen is involved, but working around it.
