Luckily you don't need to pick all of them up to open all the doors, annoying not getting everything sometimes though, needed or not.

I understand there are gears on the lower levels - are they to open the other doors I don't have gears for on the same [REDACTED] level as the others? Or are they for yet more doors?

other then the set for the main quest, any gear opens any door (the side-quest ones). I never managed to get all the gears on every level.
The doors are pretty much on the same 2 levels, top half of the dungeon crawl.

The Swedes tried stuff. We gave them the finger.
As I remember, a castle near where I live gambled under siege. They pulled out their last supplies and made a feast, easy for the Swedes to see.
The Swedes just said "nope" because they thought that if the castle had SO MANY SUPPLIES they could literally make a feast while under siege, they'll be able to last for years. Hehehe. Nope out harder!

Judging by a video I just watched, the last two on the third level involve lots of inexplicably jumping off cliffs and long, damaging falls. How did people find these things?!
I still haven't found a bottle and two mosaic pieces from the main game. I think I need to do that some time... for COMPLETENESS... and BEYOND!!!

The wiki looks awesome for helping with finding anything we've missed so that's good.
there's two decent wiki-info site thingies for this stuff. If one doesn't have it in easy-to-understand methods, the other does. It's great having a huge fan following that like completion runs for DA.
