hehe Beren, just think. Why would someone who thinks the vibe you got, actually support a woman he loves in their decision to be a templar, to protect people and fight this bloody magister dude, when he had earlier on begged her to reconsider based on the effects lyrium has on a person alone. I will likely record those conversations, and all dialogue options of any time he mentions templars, in the templar playthrough I just started so if you end up wanting to see them when I'm done, just ask. Doesn't matter either way, I respect any viewpoints on the matter hehe

 

Based on the vibe you got, as I said before, I completely understand your reaction towards it, it's very rational hehe.

 

It's not strange for people to get a different understanding to conversations, rather very appropriate. I just got something different out of his chats about templars is all. though I've talked about it with Cullen on so many different playthroughs and dialogue options, including a romanced templar lady, that I may just have settled on that particular viewpoint lol. I try not to be too biased, especially if facts get shown to disprove any wishful thinking on my part, but it doesn't always work out.

 

I do know he says he wants to find a safer way for Templars to leave the order if they want to, different to the way he chose with less risk. He says templars are trained and able to fight magic, which is currently tearing the world apart. They are a military group, first and foremost so no surprise he suggests them to work with other templars (the ones at Hasmal circle trying to protect some mages left there) and to protect an allied Magister from mage assassins (in Tevinter, the war table mission).
