This round goes to you, dirty console peasants.
ETA: Oooh, ToP! Wardens. They get the job done.

My Warden saves Ferelden.. My Hawke saves a city, or tries to.. My inquisitor saves the bloody world alright.. next PC most likely will save the world too, I don't see the next game if they make one being set more then 5 years after DAI (3 after trespasser). Not if in Tevinter and Qunari war started already. We're gearing up for the finish line I reckon.

The good thing is, the tale of Thedas still has a heavy plot to build on, they're not quite just pulling it out of their ass as they go, there's something there, been there from DAO. Going up to 5 games, plus how many books and how many comics? many people would say it's just a cash cow now but the big difference is what I said, the plot is still there. The base foundation of the Thedas tale.. but it does feel like we're starting to get to the homestretch, 2 more games maybe and a few books/comics.
I say the tale of Thedas because that's what the series is, a story about everything happening in Thedas in the Dragon Age. Not about this character, or that character. It's a whole, and all about the world.

Random bad guy: "Do you know why a drunken fool like Molari has the power he has? Because his family has been collecting dirt on other years, like all the noble houses of the great Centauri Republic. That's how they play the game, isn't it? Whispers in the dark, a knife in the back."
I am not sure what this means, but the links between Orlais and Centauri are indisputable.

I think they can continue Dragon Age even when the current plots are all tied up.
They have a massive universe. I wouldn't go for an outright sequel, but... spinoff isn't the right word.
Maybe something a millenia away from the age of the Dragon. The stories of the Warden, Champion and Inquisitor nothing but thousand-year old legends.
Yet you still have a massive story with entire books worth of lore.
going past their current series, and creating a whole new on based in their fantasy world would definitely be milking a cash cow. I was just talking about their current story and current plot.
I still hope they're giving a way to redeem Alistair to former glory. They handled Morrigan so excellently in regards to continuity and relevance (the fact I can't romance her aside), but kingboy had been reduced to a running joke that doesn't even pop up enough to be funny... or confusing, given they canonized him as king in peripheral media and then had the most interesting part in an alternate reality in which he wasn't.
Speaking of, I can only recommend the graphic novel Those Who Speak - Isabela, Varric, Alistair and Sten make a great party.
Lovely pics Invernesse! great recreation job right there, she looks amazing, just as her original does! .. I actually thought it's the same one, so amazing job hehe

*drinks and ponders DA4: Dragons in Space!*
Sheridan would certainly show you know who what's what.
Started the long boring task of transferring all my videos and stuff off bf's computer and onto mine.. with only a 16gb usb drive to do this with. This is going to take a long time..
Finishing Trespasser while I wait for files to transfer.. at least I still enjoy it hehe
On the subject of what the game is like, IDK after Tresspassers it seems more like a medeval BSG. Then anything.
On the subject of the 'five game plan' I would appreciate it in its own way. ME was a trilogy, DA is a 'play' in five acts. It is the two main ways to tell an epic story. That or seven installments. BUT I think in more recent interviews they have made clear that they do not have a specific plan to number of games. There is enough material at least for two games though. Either way I just hope EA (or BioWare themselves) have enough foresight to say no, this is it, this is the last game and last story we are going to tell so lets wrap up as much of the plot as we possibly can. I mean, for instance, could you imagine if DA I was the last game?
If there's going to be a final game, it may very well be the next one I think. After DAI, which is first time that team's used this particular engine, they know they need to end on a high note.. not an experimental one. I say that because they seem to be using DAi and its DLC to test all sorts of new things, ideas etc. like animations in combat, spells, abilities etc. Ways to get the trees working in this more linear, shorter less abilities fashion for one example. Open exploration world, jumping, character creator being so customisable, tag-along npc's for specific quests/areas for a couple of others. To me DAI felt like a big experiment once all the DLC's were released (and played), I really enjoy the game, anyone here knows that by now, a top 10 video game for me beating Origins out of the ball park but yes, I still think it was a big experiment to see what they could do.
For other thoughts: DLC spoilers (all 3 DLC's bundled)
Spoiler
Spears in trespasser, and a ton of new abilities only enemies had, gosh some were awesome.
Descent dungeon crawl : how was that sort of content received by players on average.
JoH full exploration mode with a story quest chain for itself.
linear quest chain DLC number 2 was Trespasser, but it was story heavy/focused.
Different ways of throwing new lore info at us in all 3.
3 DLC's , 3 different ways of doing them. unlike DA2 which had 2 dlc's which were the same sort of thing when you knock off their subjects/story .. rather linear, not much exploration, had a set focus goal.
edit: oops, completely forgot: MULTIPLAYER! that was a big experiment on DA team's part too.
The 5 game plan was something Laidlaw threw out there. He said there may be more or less than that many, it just depends on how many games it takes to finish telling the story they want.

Or how many games EA lets them make.
You know I just realized in regards to Sandal's prophecy about magic coming back the inciting event of magic combing back in this world was the Dragon's coming back.....now where have I heard that one before.

This, please. I don't care if it is four or seven or whatever, as long as they continue to tell the story with the same great quality. Oh, and, you know, finish it before I die

5 games is a good number for this kind of series, with different protagonists each game. So long as the DA Keep continues to work for all future games so people don't need to play the first 3 to play the 4th with a custom world state! haha
edit: I have a feeling they will let us know when the final game of the series will be the one getting released. whether its the next game, or in 3 game's time. Because of the fact as soon as one is released, people start talking about the next one.. lol..

yup, which is why I have a feeling they'll let us know about the final game prior to release, or on release etc. It's a bit harder, since they can't release early info of if they're even making a DA4 or not. But, I think they'd make the final game to be a final game, of course EA will likely stick their nose in so.. hopeful / wishful rather then sure.
