No, not at all.

Well... when he finds out, he's going to be pissed but that is not my intention.

Hrhr, let's agree that everything is subjectivly abusive :D

I'm drinking to 'only people with all their limbs can be badasses'

Which is a bit spooky. What's your medication for the day? :P

Hmm.. might have something more to do with "lack of medication". ;)

Well, time to continue on with my arsehole male Qunari.

Looking at him, I keep thinking he looks familiar.. and then I realized. He could be Luscious Lips grandson. :pinched:

I'm going to have Blackwall executed.. and basically anybody else, given the option.

True.

But I dunno, I just don't think it can be "your story". I mean sure, it's a marketing strategy and ultimately a lie. But if you had big world changing decisions.. that affected the game in such a way, then the series would be all over the place, if that makes sense?

It still has to keep a linear path, to a certain degree. The choices you make, is the how you get to a point. I.e Hawke going to Kirkwall, he/she can either be pro-mage or pro-templar, but at the end of it, no matter what, there is a war.

Like i said, dishonesty is the issue. I don't think people would complain nearly as much if BW had dropped trying to push their games as more than they are which is to say fairly linear. It would, in my opinion make the games better as well since they could drop the half-measures that don't satisfy the storyhounds or the free willies. Dragon age 2 is tightly scripted as feck and the choices pretty minor but it made the story substantial and, in my experience, the best game of the bunch even if it was made on the cheap technically.

That, or keep the "world changing decisions" spiel and make the games completely unrelated to eachother beyond the name and few details, Final Fantasy style. Though that would be goodbye to any deep lore. And the book franchise....

Oddly, I am in a serious, philosophical mood. ;)

Watching the robocop remake here...

Trying hard to forget that it's titled 'Robocop' and concentrating on the sexy, sexy augments instead

I regret deleting her now :( I wanted her to make babies and live happily ever after with Blackwall. I suppose it wouldn't be hard to revamp her. Luscious Lips 2.0. ;)

LOL I just remembered a flirt with Blackwall at Haven. You can basically ask him if he wants to ****. He's a ***** though.. evidently he doesn't.

And I still think this is the greatest pick-up line in the whole game. Early on, on spot. Deal with that! :D

The thing is, BW wants to advertise these things as "your story". That you make "big, world changing decisions" and then go ahead and make those decisions irrelevant with the script. That kinda pisses people off. Being pretty dishonest and all.

The thing with Origins was that it made an actual effort to juggle player choice with the story so the illusion could be kept and it did so well that people still bring it up as a paragon of player choice.

See, I don't think they're being dishonest.  They are telling the story they want to tell, yes, and you are going to have to accept that over the course of multiple games, some things your character does in one game does not carry through.  However, you still have the story of what your character did in your head, and nothing can take that away.  I've struggled explaining this before, so sorry as I know what I say is a crap explanation.

Honestly, that's the best thing to do with remakes (looking at you, JJ Abrams Star Trek and Peter Jackson's interesting and new stories of Middle Earth) anyway.  Just pretend they don't have the title they have and enjoy them as a generic movie of whatever genre they are in.

Well, the next step would have been, lying naked on a table. I guess.

I was thinking quite hard about this one. I figured, I never played a game, that featured 'Choices, choooooices' and was really free to play. Anyone else did?

Not with that spineless fecker of a so-called "man", no.  It's a good thing it's going to be awhile before my Luthien gets played again.  Gives her time to cool off about the whole thing.  Blackwall seriously needs some man pills or something.  Seen more assertive men at black widow socials.

You mean, before you played BioWare games you never had choices, so when you started playing them, you felt you did?

Well that's how I feel.. and I get why in certain circumstances, you don't have a choice. Especially in DA's case.

LMAO.

Yeah, he is a bit dramatic. I can't decide whether to trollmance him or Solas.

Eh... no. I play a lot of games that tell me that my choices totally matter and form the game. But at the end of the day... my choices never really matter.

Never trollmance Solas!

(But still... his romance is a lot less weird.)

I know what happens with Blackwall's already. I've seen it described as the trashiest romance in the game.

You boink in the barn, and wake up the next day butt naked, on a bale of hay, and he's gone. Oh and I dunno if it's before or after that.. that he tells you he'll never be good enough for you, you're too good for him blah blah blah.

I admit, I don't know what happens after the disappearance. But it will probably be more hilarious than Solas.. considering the Solas romance is probably interesting with all that lore and sh*t.
