*steps behind the bar rummaging for more cider*
A whole bottle while I'm back here Geek McSneak? or just a glass?
How you been, by the way? you've been gone for ages!
Whole. Bottle. Laphroaig scotch. I drink it clean.Though I do like Angry Orchard and the like.
Well, I did make a post about that, but oddly enough I can't see my last post here. o.O
Here's my not-so-summed up hiatus happenings:
Tried my real life DQ, didn't happen. I couldn't get a screenie of me running around aimlessly trying to figure out how to get passed this odd rock outcropping and to my quest point. You could see the green glow in the sky, but like those weird dreams, it's like you're running and never moving. My wine glass emptied pretty fast too.
After that, tons of hand sewing. I found out about an event location change so there was the prerequisite last-minute sewing that all reenactors do before an event. I agreed to help sit at the sign-in spot, but no one else volunteered besides me and the guy who was volunteered into running it. So I helped him and his lovely lady for the whole 8 hours. drink
What made all that worth it? Toward closing signups, the head of our arts & sciences had some of her Christmas in a bottle. Amazing mead. I'll repeat what I'd said before. It was like the Christ-child himself blessed it with his fingertips. Angels appeared and sung sweet, sweet lullabies to him. And then a dove flew in and -- okay now I'm just full of it. I was also gifted a beautiful beaded necklace as a token by the same A&S lady.
Thanks. I've done a few posts but they are few and far between. Maybe when things slow down a bit.
Anyhoo, I've got a new Adaar named Margarita. I'm not sure if this is funny or terrible.
I think that Margarita is an appropriate DQ name. I approve.
I have an apple cider problem too! I'm addicted to the stuff. So tasty..

Cidar. I did say something about Angry Orchard. At my local pub, that's my go-to for now. I really should branch out. har, har.
I love exotic sounding names, or bird related names. Here's a very short list of some of my favourites, whether I actually use them or not is another matter.
Jovan - Majestic
Chantara - 'song' pretty much.
Dante - enduring
Meriel - black bird (irish name apaprently)
Kyrrah - a name for the magpie, a black and white swooping bird native to Aust.
ergh on Magpies, walking home from the shopping centre today with both hands carrying grocery bags and a flippin' magpie decides to swoop me, and hover above my head cawing at me until I'd gotten across the road (nesting season recently started, it's called swooping season or magpie season for a reason too). The last time it swooped me, it bumped into the back of my head and pancaked itself on the ground next to me. so funny.
Didn't Alistair say swooping is bad? snerrrk
But I have this thing with names too. When I was trying to find an appropriate Society name, I bought a Welsh book of names, only to find out my favorite wasn't 14th century. So at some point I need to rent a ton of pricey books, study Welsh to read about half of them, and somehow figure out what I like that doesn't sound like a sneeze. What a Ddraig. (punz)
I love creating unique names. I do tend to go to that book I have, and sometimes I'll just change the spelling. Not all Welsh names sound feminine though. Some names can be changed to be male or female. For example, Arwen (as you know it) is a female name, but Arwyn would be for a man.
Great, all this talk of Welsh names makes me mourn for this long project I was working on. I basically have to go and re-write everything because I lost it on an external drive that decided to die. I had so much stored there. I forgot to back things up one time and naturally that's when I lose it all. Drinnkksss
