Oh that wasn't my issue. Being the completely self absorbed sh*t that I am, I forgot that others may have not played it yet. Of course, before I played I was the first to b*tch on countless occasions about spoilers elsewhere on the forums.

Then there's a thing (which I don't mean to make this uncomfortable and y'all are free to comment on this to your heart's content)... but if you look at it, you don't exactly get to play as a brother in many fantasy games besides Dragon Age either. It is not a make-or-break thing in a game, and lord knows there's people way less represented obviously... but ever since I got used to it, DA holds a special place.

 

In most fantasy-themed games, they are either a seperate people, or worse, hokey witchdoctors and the likes - one way the other, there's always a "special" reason why they have dark skin - or almond eyes, for that matter. It's exotic by default and requires more of an origin story than a giant bloody monster spewing arcane fire.

You've mentioned this before and I've wanted to ask and keep forgetting.  Does it bug you at all when others create a black character?  For instance, my DAO Melian  & DAI Luthien are both black elves.

I wonder if it's possible to play as a mother or father in a fantasy RPG? I would love that. Imagine having to watch your child die in front of you or something, because of a decision you made...

Imagine / headcanon it!   Elu Thingol has a wife and child back with his clan in the Free Marches.  Well actually, once at Skyhold, his wife came to be with him, but  they child has been left in the care of a relative friend for the time being.

 

Up until the swords part, yeah. I would have said humor, but the rack is a pretty good selling point as well.

 

Remind me to not use that line on my next date.
